I m an engineering student, currently in the final year and i have been placed in infosys. The thing is, that in our university there is a credit system, where in, u have to get a certain no. of credits out of the total no. of credits for obtaining the degree. This means that we can afford to drop the credits of 2 to 3 backlogs, incase we have any. Now my question is that if i am not able to clear a subject in my final year but still manage to get the degree, then in that case would that pose any sort of problem for me when i join infy, as in,would they still accept me or not??? cos i have heard that they are very strict about the academic performance. I would be highly obliged if anybody could help me on this.

I dont think there should be any problem once you get your degree completion certificate. Put a mail to HR and get this confirmed.

i hav received my offer letter nd in tht they suggested few books like ..........C PROGRAMMING BY KERNIGHAN n RITCHIE...,FUNDAMENTALS OF DATABASE SYSTEMS ,ELMASRI ,NAVATHE THIRD ED,ADDISON WESLEY.....,OPERATING SYSTEMS CONCEPTS BY SILBERSCHATZ ND GALVIN,ADDISON WESLEY....!!.........i never followed these buks (though i followd th other fr these subjects)........
shall i buy these buks ?......did any1 here followd these buks nd is th understandabilty rate fr these buks gud fr a not so excellently intelligent student.....fr C programming i followed yashwant kanetkar......is tht buk enough.......????
im a 4th yr cs student....i stil hav one semester time period in wch i can take time fr revising these sub...
Chill yar! I am from CS background and I was in short cycle. After joining Infy Mysore all trainees from CS/IT background and those from non-CS/IT background who have had campus connect in their college give a test which has Qs from what you've learned in the past 4 years......based on your performance in the test you are put into short cycle (1.5 months) otherwise you go into long cycle (3.5 months).
A pune guy (26th nov pune) has got offer letter last week.
all my batch mates(26th nov chennai) have got offer letters.May be for other state people they are taking some time(just a guess).Hell,i hope u have given ur 2nd round HR too.In that case,you are in....meanwhile relax and wait.

as you asked i found out that network engineer is basically a support system job. this typically will not involve coding and testing. regarding your second question, infy is one of the safest place for girls to work
