Why Infosys is not conducting walk-in interviews while other majors like TCS, Wipro are doing?
Even in Hindu Opp job trade fair, they only collect resume from candidates while other conduct interview and give offer there itself.
Is is because Infy wants to maintain standard in selection process? / Is there any other reason for this?
Couldn't understand your question dude! Are you questioning the fact that Infosys takes in ppl based on the written test (this varies, at some places they also take hr interviews, at a few just a written test is enough)? Or are you questioning that the number of Infy-walk-ins have reduced?

Walk-in interview : I mean ..... see the openings in paper advertisement, walk in to their office with resume, attened interview and get offer letter.
Last week there was Hindu Opportunities Fair (Sponsered by CTS) in Chennai Trade Center. Most of the Companies were conducting the interviews there and gave offer letter / intent to offer letter on the same day itself. But Infy guys were only collecting the resumes from Candidates.
Even I have never seen any Infy advertisement in Hindu Opportunities section for Walk-in interview. They will only ask candidates to send resume to them and they will call shortlisted people to F2F interview.
Why they have this process?

That is something beyond you and me buddy!
But i guess, every company has it's set of methods. For instance Oracle conducts multiple level of interviews.
Regarding very few infy advertisments, that even surprises me. But as far as i know (from friends who apply for these walkins) a good number of people land up.
Their process is a bit different. First of all, both freshers & laterals give the same written test, and the laterals have tech interviews after that (while freshers have HR interview) I haven't seen this approach in any other company. (ever wondered why riddles are asked by Infy?)
Also i have seen & tried (just for kicks
)walk-ins of different companies, most of the times it becomes a market-scene, too many to handle. This approach i feel, is better. At least there won't be gate-crashers and they'll be able to handle it better.

Congratulations on ur selection. Mysore campus is the best campus that Infy has or any other company can think of having. With facilities beyond your imagination and environment you will enjoy to be indulged in. At the same time pressure of Tests, Projects and Comprehensive Tests. But you will simply love it. The four months of your stay at Mysore would be your honeymoon period, so just go, enjoy and STUDY.
Hello everyone,
I had a written test on 24th september 2006 in bangalore , for infosys. i cleared the written test. My interview was on very next day at 11:10 am in bangalore. I waited for one hour. i have done well in the interview i didnt get nervous , and answered the questions to their satisfaction, kept smiling
So can u tell me after how many days they declare the results . and wats the chances of getting selected . I am waiting for ur reply.. My email id is : ******@yahoo.com
Salute to the PRINCE
Hope u liked it. Dont worry, as you mentioned ur interview it was ok and was a normal fresher interview. You may get a call fro 4 days to several months till you dont get a rejection letter. So, keep ur fingers crossed. ENJOY!!!!!
one small query.........
i am reaching mysore the previous afternoon or evening b4 my doj......
is it ok?
do i get a choice for my room and room mate......or its random?
or is it in first come first preferance?
I took up the test on June 11th 2006, attended the
interview on June 13th and then attended a Telephonic
interview on Julty 28th, after that i did not get any
updates nor a rejection letter from them.
Do i still stand a chance of getting an offer from Infosys......
Can you please tell me if anyone in ure group got selected....

do infy peaple r really very strict bout 9 months gap?????
As far as I know,Infy is very strict strict regarding the 9 months gap. There was a candidate in our batch who got selected, came here for training. His gap duration was just 2-3 days less than 9 months. He had even told the HR about this. Even then he was asked to leave. So be careful on this point.

If you get a call letter from infosys, it means they consider you eligible. That's final! Why wonder over it?
Dude, this is not an mba enterance where your acads matter like they do in gd/pi after the written. Free your mind of doubts and give your best. All people who give the written would be definitely given same weightage.
ATB! 😃
thx a lot for ur reply....

Hi,
If your offer letter and related docs mention that they are going to provide acco from a day before then it is fine and that is the case in most of the scenarios. So go ahead. As per the selection or choice of room is concerned --- A BIG NO. It depends - you may or you may not. And acc to the current situation in Mysore, it seems difficult. Whether you come first or second no preference is given.

You have chances. But it would be better if you contact them. I have given the contact info in my previous mails. Please check them.
Hi,
I have also got a call letter from Infy. But I have a concern. At the time of the test I was not concentrating properly and ended up giving a wrong entry.Actually between the marks that I have entered and the actual marks , there is a 0.2% difference. But I don't want to loose the oppurtunity of Infosys. Will it become an issue.

If this 0.2% make you eligible then you might be in trouble. Otherwise dont worry, To Err is Human.
Hi,
My actual percentage is 64.84%.But I don't know whether the cut-off in Infy is 60 or 65.I have cleared the first round of TCS also.I am not sure whether I will get the call letter for TCS b4 infy joining.
Is the Infosys cut-off 65 for off-campus????
