Have no idea on this buddy... take a risk, call up the Hr, ask if you can postpone your joining by a few months, give some personal issue as the reason. If they agree, well and good, if not you might have to take up the final decision.

Nowadays training is provided at almost all the dc's. With the Mysore campus full of trainees what with foreign batches also joining in...infy is distributing the trainees and of course the ENR people across the dc's.

Give them a strong valid reason as to why you wish to get your joining extended. In the past infy has extended the joining dates. They will try and put you into some other batch..but in that case you might have to wait longer.

Please note i'm quoting these points based on the info i know, unlike b-schools, i can't just walk up and ask the officials the exact details :)
You should get offer letters by dec-feb max...
I inquired, salaries offered to ppl joining Infosys in '07 have been in the range 2.4 to 2.8lakhs per annum. So calculating your sal as 19.5k (gross) per month it comes to 2.34lakhs, might get revised : Ur offer letter would determine that(unless they have purposely kept diff salaries, haven't heard of such incidents in infy).
If your training happens in mysore, i believe a fixed amount of your salary is deducted for the acco, elsewhere, nothing is deducted. The first 7 days of acco is naturally free

Dont worry. If u dont get ur offer letter, just take a printout of the email and they will provide you with a copy of offer letter at Mysore.

Hey besides the tax deductions and the rental charge...you can take home the rest...i belive it comes around 14k for new trainees(i might be off the mark also)...and in the end of trainning you get a training incentive based on the performance durin the training.

Well it never helps to apply for a written test, and then not appear without informing them beforehand. Call up the HR, you seem to have a valid reason, they might/should listen to you. Or if you can wait, do wait for some walk-ins for freshers. Can't help you more on that, don't have an idea on this.
@vasundhra, I didn't reply on the salary point bcoz that takes away the surprise part. And the breakup differs, as @fera mentioned it might be in the 13-16 bracket... Do not delve deeper, wait for your time! you'll enjoy it more :)
