do we need to learn anything before attending INFY training? I am a EEE graduate and not good in software that much.My doj is on MARCH 4,2013.I would like to know the concepts,programming languages and any important computer subjects that are taught during training,as i want to get an idea about it beforehand.thanks in advance

If you've been selected, then you'll definitely get the DOJ. Sometimes, it gets delayed due to some organizational issues. Need not to worry!

Unfortunately you have no say in your posting which can be random at times but most of the times you get near your domicile place or the place from where you graduated. You have a choice of swapping with someone before leaving from mysore after which shifting location is difficult and depends on no. of factors and luck.

What kind of internship are you talking about? Please elaborate.
Internship is different and getting a job is different in Infosys. You have been selected for a permanent job or an internship?

During training You can quit anytime. Just tell them any reason like u r going for MBA or not feeling gud in mysore or anything. they dont interfere much when u are at training. three friends of mine have done d same during training.
Even after training you can quit and they will ask for compensation but dont you worry they will simply send one or twi notices at your address but no enquiries would be made after a short period of time. The disadvantage to leave like this is that you wont get training Certification and a proper release letter from infosys. Also you will be Blacklisted from Infosys so that you may not join in future here.

Hi mila, you are taught from the scratch here. But if you wish you can get a basic knowledge of C and Java it would be sufficient. But guys like me who did not learn a single thing beforehand did well too 😃 so you can skip studies before joining and utilize the tym for roaming travelling and njoying ur hobbies. 😃 the same as i did :)
training at infy is really awesome. its a real good atmosphere here even if a donkey comes here he wud hav learnt a lot of programming before passing out lol 😃 jst kidding 😃

currently whats going on is you have training in three phases - Generic , Intermediate and Stream
training pattern changes from time to time here

In generic you will learn basic programming in C, Java , Oracle SQL and software engineering practices
If u clear all these xams with 75% and above then you will be a fasttrack student and will be passed directly to Stream training saving you two months of training of intermediate.

Intermediate is nothing but getting deep in the areas of generic for making the trainee understand things better.
Stream is allotted after generic(to fasttrack people) or intermediate(regular guys) you may get any of them randomly. there is nothing that you can choose its all your luck. tehre are many streams taught here some of them are dotnet,java,business intelligence, cloud computing, open systems, IVS, ESA etc etc. Depends on requirements of projects that what technology guys are asked by the production.

They will teach you everything from scratch.But it will be helpful if you go through C/C++,Java,RDBMS and bit of Unix.I am telling this because you have sufficient time before DOJ.Also,There is pressure in 'Basic stage' i.e. Stage1 to perform else they will send you for break or kick you out depending upon your CGPA and this is the thing that haunts almost every trainee once their training starts!So,it's my sincere advice to go through C and RDBMS atleast.And yes, learn to Code and run queries in C and RDBMS respectively rather than going through theories.

Just forget what they quote,you'll get as minimum as possible.It was 13,000/- something in our days.
