Yeah lapis are not allowd u can carry watevr tab u want to...
Except for laptops pendrives and Cd/DVD... thing like iPod,Tablets,camera(which has a memory card 😉 so u can get sm of ur stuff in that memry crd in case u want to ) are allowed...

The opportunities for PeopleSoft domain are quite decent but there is always the luck factor that comes in .. Whethr u'll be roped in by a "project" which has a need for onsite .. Also, Infosys sends only the chosen ones for onsite .. They're very particular on it .. :splat:

I got all the documents and details about joining by Infy and the DOJ is Aug 13 as a Systems Engineer in Mysore DC. Now I'm not sure comparing companies/profiles is allowed but I would like to know if in the current climate what should one do, if my other offers are HCL software engineer with DOJ July 30 in Noida with the same package. And the last one is with S&P; Capital IQ which is a testing profile 'Tech Quality Analyst' in NCR with a higher package.
Is a testing profile deemed rather unfulfilling in comparison to an SE profile? And also is HCL worth preferring over Infy as of this moment?
PS- I'm based in Delhi currently.

Do not go about misleading people if you do not know the details.
Accomadation is given to every trainee at Infosys Mysore ( whatever be your graduation degree ). At Infosys you are treated on par with everyone else. There is no discrimination based on your qualifying degree.
So yes you will definitely be given accomadation as long as you are a trainee.
Once you complete your training you have find suitable accomadation by yourself at your posting location ( and this applies to everyone).

Look mate Aug 13 is not far so u shud definitely go for infosys.. I was in the same condition as you..and i know both the training climates at HCL and at Infy.. believe me Infy training is a lot lot bettr than evry1 else out there in the field... Even the dumbest person in IT field knows a lot about the field after Infy Training...
And that S&P; u r talking about...testing is not that a good sector in the current scenerio.. onsites will be too less for you...negligible in fact...

they generally don't pre-pone the joining date, but you can call them up and give it a shot

Dude its infosys not Microsoft/Google....there is one year left in your joiinig..utilise it fully search for another job in any MNC..if u get any job ..join it and forget Infosys....there are many companies which pay fresher way better than Infosys/TCS/CTS does....also the work u get their will be good as compared to that which u will get in INfy.....so think accrodingly.....and i suggest you not to waste entire year for CAT preparation...join any good company which will pay you more than INfy and prepare for CAT simulatneously........All the best....

as u said in S& P you will testing profile....So u will do testing its for sure
but in INfosys no one can tell you what work will you do after training.....They can give you development/Database/Testing/Support anything....
Even if u get training in say Java..they will throw you into Mainframes....and belive me this happens to most of trainees completing training.....From my batch people got training in SAP/Java/.Net..and after training infy put them into support projects.....they are suffering a lot...they have to work in rotational shifts like that of call centre/some have to even attend the client calls...and the work they do is of no use once they leave this company...so no value addition to their profile......
so think accordingly ..infy is a gamble....u can either get a very good project or land up in a support project....
PS. In Infosys be ready for long bench perod after training....

I have served 45 days of notice period. I have asked my manager to give a waive-off of 15 days and have agreed to pay 1 month notice period. Many of my colleagues have done this thing. But my manager s saying that he wont give me any waive-off and I have to pay the whole amount(45 days).

hi buddy , this issue is entirely management driven 😞 that means it depends on your PM to ask for a buy-out period ,
how-ever try talking to your BP HR and convince then that you are going for higher education and not to a different company , might/might not work , but give it a shot

yeah, I have tried that...The HR says that my manager has the last call...My manager is not even changing my relieving date and so I cant complete the other formalities as well

I have got a support project (Database related ) and would be given morning and regular shifts .
Just wanted to know will it hamper my MBA preperation? if yes what should I do so my preperation doesn't suffer. Moreover I would be working in ODC so , so many restrictions
