Hi .. The infosys bond is like a trap. I know people who have paid 1.5Lakhs cash to break the bond .... varies from 50-60k to almost 2 lacs.
some components are
Rs 250 per hour of CPU usage during training
Rs 8000 as cost of training
50% of salary paid by infosys to you.
cost of hiring a new resource upto 15k.
You have to sign a service agreeement on stamp paper giving a gurrantor

Hello friends.....I applied to few Univ in USA to do my masters and I got admits in 3 univ.abroad.So now the point is i'm placed in infosys and thinking about doing an MBA in good b-schools in India after 1 year work-ex in infy.So should go take infy and write CAT staying back in India or go to America???( wrote cat 2011 got 77.84.converted BIMTECH,IMT-NAg,XIME,left all of them).......NOW the question is MS in USA or MBA in INDIA???????friends kindly reply to the post...thanks in advance

Dude it depends completely on you. Are you technically inclined. Is financing your MS easy. Do you want a career in Management. MS in USA, what college what course. Think it out..MBA /MS both are decent paths but the decision is yours on what you want to choose.

2 also i hv got job at Headstrong noida wid package of 2.5 lac but they hv already given joining on 30th of july.
3 so problem is whether i should join infy or headstrong as my main target is MBA? and Which will provide me better profile for MBA??

here is my take on ur questions:
More than the company, the profile u will be working in will be important.
if it is pure codinng, it will be smthing most of the ppl will have, but if u have smthing related to IT consulting, MBA may even seem a logical step.
i am nt sure why joining date is an issue? if u r talking for preparation time for CAT, then i wud suggest take a later date, as it becomes bit difficult to study and work.
No idea abt headstrong, bt i work in Infy, and can tell that Infy will nt provide u with anything new that other companies cant provide.
weigh ur options and decide.

In my opinion you should join Infosys...as the joining is around Oct / Nov you can prepare well for CAT this year as dere wont be much workload around dat tym...
Well if you are talking about profile for MBA den I dunt thnk a job at Infosys will make ur profile look gud...
So prepare well and try for other consulting or business analytics jobs during this brief tym u have...if thinks dunt work out den join Infosys and give CAT next year

i am passing out B.E in info science , in bangalore , i got infosys job as a system engineer. i am in a dilemma because i got E & Y job as an analyst under IT risk and assurance , package is 2.5 lpa + benefits, but this is not a coding job . i am confued whether i must take infosys or ernst and young , infy salary is ctc 3.25, i want to know certain things
1)which job profile is better ?
2)will i be given maintenence in infosys for this salary ?
plus i will do am mba in one or two years

I'd suggest you go for the E and Y HOB

Infosys has a bond for 1.5 years 4 months traiining + 1 year after that,

that's partly true, you would also get the training performance bonus , but you would get it in terms of a lump-some amount at the end of training

i just gave my last semester exam in june, but one of the subject didnt go well. I was selected in infosys on 14th september 2011 but havent received d date of joining yet. Since m worried about my one of d subjects, is it possible to extend d date of joining as i guess i might get backlog in my last semester. Kindly help!

last semester backlogs are looked down upon in Infosys. would recommend you to clear it before joining. date extensions are given only in genuine medical cases as per my info.

Not sure about latest scenario but at the time when I joined (2009 Engg passout) those who had got backlogs in last sem were given extensions.. One of my friend had joining in august but he had a backlog which he cleared in re valuation.. He had asked for extension and was given further date in November..

i hope i ll get joining extension. Need to know the formalities. My results have not come out yet but i can predict that i might flunk. Secondly Infosys has not given any offer letter yet.

after they give you the offer letter you can just call up the HR (or the toll free number) and ask for an extension citing your reason
