Both are very good companies to start your career with. (since I have worled with both)
But as per market trends n news, TCS is in a much better position that Infosys.
While Infy gives u a great training experience, TCS would provide you a company which is currently very aggressive and might give you better opportuities.
But end of the day, its luck what matters (atleast fro a fresher) as to what project, domain you might land in.
after how much time my original certificates(10th.12th.grad,etc) will be returned to me??..am going to join infosys training soon..plzz help!!

To be honest, I don't think this thread permits comparing the 2 companies. Its important to note that two companies that are market competitors will have pretty much the same advantages and dis-advantages. After that, its all on the work you get the what you do with it.

Your offer letter would be given just before 2 months before your final exams. Assuming you will finish your graduation finishes in may/june, you can expect your joining date in September, though it depends on your college. I suggest you to do some research in your senior batch to get a clear idea. it will be more or less the same joining date as their's.

Guys are allotted single rooms only. There is no choice for getting any rooms for girls. But, now most of the girls also get a single room only.

it depends on the joining date. mention of it, i can help u better.
and regarding the reason, it depends on you entirely. it is your choice. The truth will not have any impact in the future neither does the false.

you might get 1.5 or 2 days leave in the starting. and in april you will get 4 more leaves. if you have 1.5 days leave and you want to put leave for 2 days before april, you can do it. that wont be a problem. however, you might have to take loss of pay. per day you will be deducted 600Rs. considering your package is 3.25 or 3.3

Its been more than 6 years since i attended my training, but i don't think much would have changed.
Training is a very hectic time as you will be moving from 1 module to another in a matter of days. They are paying you during training and they want to be done with it as soon as they can and bring you to production life.
So lets say you have Unix training for 2 days, the 3rd day will be your module test which has great importance in the overall score of your training. If you are absent for 2 days, you loose the entire training for Unix. Even worse, if you are absent during the module test you mess up your Generic course.
How you handle it is totally up to you. There isn't a fixed solution.
You can either be honest to your batch owner and let him/her know that you have an interview. I cant guess what their response would be. Or you can fake something. But you need to understand, that whatever be the consequences you should be prepared to face it.
My intention is not to scare you. I'm being very honest. What you need to do is evaluate yourself and see if you can handle it.
1) Try to schedule your interviews during weekends and in Bangalore. Mysore Bangalore is well connected.
2) If you have to schedule interviews during weekdays, pick a slot that is right after your module test, that will ensure that you done miss much in class
Alternatively, if you are very good with computer programming, you can attend the tests without even having to sit through the training.
