To put things objectively , the following is what u can expect at Infy :
1) If yr gross is 9 LPA , yr take home will vary month to month based on company quarterly performance , I worked in Infy for 2 years and could never understand my salary structure ...period 2) Do not go by Role/ Role designations , all this is immaterial in Infy , if u do join Infy , join with a open mind and a lesser ego since they are experts in giving u something tangentially different to what u may like 3) I was in Level 6 A , if I remember correctly; I was a Sr PM so u r 2 levels below the middle Management level 4) Regrading yr promotion et al , there is a very complex and idiotic process of CRR , something like % ile with a lot of variables thrown in like clearing 2 certifications , average 9.15 hours per quarter , etc etc ...if u do want to get promoted fast and get CRR1 , be very close to yr boss and other influential persons (believe me , it works like this everywhere) 5) Last but not the least kindly do not go with an intention of making a career in Infosys or for that matter any Indian IT company ......make money , go abroad and make more money , dont fret about CRR or promotions , enjoy life
Thanks for all the information provided by you. But I am still not clear that with 4.6 yrs of exp is the role sufficient for me as Senior Associate Consultant?? Yeah some of the policies I have heard are real bad.. As stated in my offer letter so my band is 4A or 4B ? my job level 4 and my personal level 4..really hard to get what exactly it is.. and there are 2 roles..1 role is Associate consultant and Role designation is Senior Associate Consultant.. If i get promoted within a year or 2...my level will be 5A or what?
1 more thing..I am a Oracle Developer but I have been given a role of Senior Associate Consultant not like Technology Analyst or Senior System Engineer. Very difficult to understand all this

I do not really understand the Role Structure as well , to me its plain gibberish and jargons by the HR-that's all ....Indian IT cos are just sweat shops and work on a linear model - thats why i said , work like a daily wage laborer , make money and yr career will progress at its own speed .....all said and done , till date are good salary providers at least onshore regardless of yr work profile ......and I feel no discomfort in having this mental set up , this is the way it is ......Since I did not like the work content and limitations , I quit .
I have cleared all semesters of my engineering and have all 8 marksheets. However, I have yet to recieve my provisional degree and consolidated marksheet. I have applied for the same in the university but it will take time. So, if I were to report with all of my marksheets, will it suffice?

yea dude it will suffice for now. when u join infy, after some time may be a 3 months or so they will remind you to submit your provisional degree. till then you might receive it.
I am from Delhi.I have been selected for Infosys 2012 batch in September. So far I have received a login mail and a letter of intent. Our university does not have a training in 8th sem. So when can i expect my Offer letter/DOJ (month).
Also i have scored 88.61%ile in cat. I am a fresher with 0 workex but good academics. With this i may get a call from TAPMI,IFMR if i apply(since last date is not over yet).
So i wanted to ask that it is worth joining this time or should i give a second shot. :w00t: Also will i get enough time for cat preparation during infosys training??

I heard that Infy has recently changed the way they give posting to ppl at their development centers. People as recent who went for training in August 2011 have been posted according to their domicile and were not asked about their preferred location. Earlier, infy used to ask two preferences from candidates about their joining location. However, I have heard that now they are not asking any preference. They are giving the person a location that is closest to his/her home. And all north indians from UP/Delhi/Bihar have got either Chandigarh or Jaipur. How far is this true? Any one who knows someone who went for training recently?

i think u shud give it a try again...during training its difficult for u to prepare as d schedule is really tight and u will hav to manage tym vry effectively...my take will be to try it again this tym..if results are gud then no probs and if they are not den try for d third tym wen ur training is over...cos den u will have a gud level of work ex....

From training perspective, Infy is the best and you can't miss out an opportunity to be in mysore campus!!! You know, you can shift to any company after that. My point is, don't miss out on Infy training if you have a chance.

You won't get any time to prepare for CAT during your Infosys training. So, take a call based on that.

Not necessarily...I am 2010 pass-out working in Infy..Last yr 2011, in march they conducted an off-campus drive for 2010 pass-outs. Generally they conduct off-campus drive for a batch after all the on-campus placed engineers of that batch are called for training.

No. i am also a student of 2011 batch. Infosys had announced for off campus in april 2011 & asked for CV. We sent them. But till now they haven't started any drive for us.
