Can plz somebody elaborate wat is their selection procedure for MBA in campuses?? Do they take apti test or not??? Plz throw some light on Procedure for MBAs.

I have worked for 15 months in Chandigarh and believe me 1st case has never happened there. I dont know about other locations but I have only seen BE/BTech people with onsite exp, IIT graduates or mid-level company people(Igate etc)getting career stream changed to BA profile and that too after lot of negotiation(during recruitment).
Most BA's in Chandigarh are doing technical stuff which BTech/BE guys do.

Definitely its OK (infact good) but use forum for public queries wich are/mite be applicable/useful for all.

1. I hv heard that SEs who prove themselves also get BA profiles after 2-3 years and also I believe BTech guys who hv already worked on the project prove to be better BAs than MBA freshers who hv no idea abt the project initially.
2. In case there is no work(wich often contributes to bench strength), BAs are also asked to do some technical stuff which BTech/BE guys do.
Afterall company is paying u and will try to get something from u rather than letting u sit idle.

My 2 cents :
SEs who prove themselves will go to BA levels only after min 6 years. For SEs, the typical career progression is as follows: Senior Systems Engineer -> Technical Lead(TL) -> Technical Analyst(TA) -> Business Analyst (BA) ->Project Manager.
It is impossible for an SE to become BA is 2-3 years. The role enhancements are put into place such that each role would take an year atleast!
I dunno much about bench and stuff, but the BAs hardly do any technical work.

Nope. Not true. 3.88 is offered to people 1 year after posting. That is around 1.5 years after joining. And there is 1 more catch. 3.88 is offered to 5 pointers(top rankers) in training. For others it is 3.76 and bottom ones get 3.64

JKC now sent me mail saying all students selected must join Campusconnect training this june. I have already attended that program last year and cleared all the modules with good marks I have said that to infy also by calling their tollfree number, and also sent them a mail at [email protected]. They said that I need not attend the training again.
But JKC says, u have to attend it, its compulsory. Please tell me what to do, I cannot attend that training coz I have some other important work,...

No need to attend the Campus Connect. Ultimately all details will go to Infy only. Tell JKC that you have already done Campus Connect and you have talked to Infy HR regarding this and he has allowed.
BTW Campus Connect is NOT at all compulsory. Even if you have not done it, it wont affect your joining.

Yaar sorry to be a spoilsport but I will have to dissapoint you once again.You are not eligible for the hikes. I will explain you how Infy works in terms of package
when you go for training, your package is around 17k out which some 3700 is being cut for accomodation charges. So you get 13300 something. One month after you get posting, you get training performance incentive(TPI) of around 20K(meaning the amount they cut during training is given to you in lumpsum) and your package becomes 3.14(bottom performer in training),3.17(2nd level),3.25(top performer).1 year after your posting your package becomes 3.64,3.76,3.88(which is called confirmations). You are eligible for yearly hikes IF your CONFIRMATION is before 31st march of that year.
So the 12% hike you are talking about is given to people who has already slogged out 18-19 months of their life to Infy.
Why again?

Laptop allocation is done on the basis of project. So you may or may not get a laptop from Infy. But in NO circumstances you would be allowed to get your personal laptop inside the building(you have to deposit your laptop at the gates)

Yes ... Tejas is right...no personal laptops are allowed inside any campus, they are deposited at gates itself. Only laptops provided by Infy are allowed inside campus which is again allocated based on projects as tejas mentioned.
