I am a final year B.E student from Computer Science Branch.I got on campus placement in 3 companies:Infosys,Cognizant Technology Solutions and CSC.I am now caught in a dilemma about which one to join as i would like to appear for CAT after 2 years of job experience.
1.I would like to know which company should i join that will give me maximum benefits based on profile,experience etc. from the point of view of cracking IIM calls etc.
2.Also which company will give me ample time to prepare for CAT(I'll be appearing for CAT only after 2 years of work experience so i wouldn't mind if i cannot study for CAT during the initial training period or so)

All the IT companies are same but I would definitely go with Infosys because of its brand value and above all the great training period experience if happens in Mysore.
In terms of opportunity to get ample study time, it will depend on the project. But given that you want to appear after 2 years, any company would be good enough if you keep brushing up things step-by-step.
My vote will go with Infosys.

I dont think the choice of company makes much diff..at the end of the day ..exp would be from IT
...so which ever u choose make u develop ur resume better (2) it does not depend on company...but rather on the project u are in..if u choose infy ,then ping me ....i can suggest u a unit where u have ample time

Go for Infosys. The brand value that Infosys has is much higher than CTS and CSC (at the IIMs).
Also, consider the joining dates in these 3 companies. Try to take the one which gives u the offer at the earliest.
Apart from brand value ..also consider the employee strength
when i went for my TISS interview...out of 17 people interviewed by my panel on the day...9 are from infy

can't agree more....the 5 months time u spent in mysore campus will be the best part of ur stay...and for this Infy scores over other 2 placements....

Exactly! I wonder why living through those 5 months disconnected with the rest of the world, with no laptop and permanent internet , always being on a tight schedule, among loads of exams and loads of programming (read Hands On!) makes it the best period of one's life!!!

I got selected for infosys and my DOJ is on june 20th.
iam doing my 4th sem mba.i got a back in 3rd sem.
Altough i can appear for re exam the result won't come by june 20th.
Iam sure that my result(4th sem and 3rd sem re exam) will come by july end.
Can i ask for a postpone of DOJ till july end or is there any other way for this.
Please advice me.

I attended a walk in conducted by Infosys at Kolkata on 9th April... i cleared the interview and later on also received calls to confirm my role (Sr Assoc Consultant) and salary, however I havent yet received the offer letter yet (soft/hard copy). I have been calling/emailing HR and they have informed that my letter might have been delayed due to technical reasons and it would be mailed shortly
However i need to travel overseas by next week and it will be difficult for me to resign if i get the offer letter during my overseas travel... can anyone give an idea on how much average time Infosys takes to mail across the offer letters?

you can check in your offer letter for any time mentioned for document submission, generally they have a certain period within which you need to submit them...if they have a month or so for the same then you are good

I am not too sure about lateral offer letters, but considering you have only one week at hand, its highly poosible that you will recieve the offer letter while you are onsite.
But, knowing how the company functions, you can rest assured that your offer will be honoured, if it has been confirmed by the HRs.

As for as my interaction with the lateral guys goes ...Infy takes its one sweet time in sending the offer letter
they said it took them a month on an average to get offer letter after the confirmation (it may not be a general case)...so plan accordingly...But as mentioned earlier ,Infy always honour the offers:cheerio:
Incase of exigency..better contact the HR so as to expedite the process..

You need not send any documents. They will check all the docs once you join. There is a separate process for it after joining.
And yeah don't address anyone as "sir".Once you enter Corporate world,only First names :)

The docs verification will be done, mostly, in the first three days after you join. I am not sure what they will do regarding the backlog.
