in infosys mail it is given that they are advising for it but at the same time they require the proof of the same to be submitted at the time of joining?

only the medical tests are mandatory. They will only ask 4 d medical certi issued on hospital's letterhead

Hey folks.
My date of joining was 7th Feb.
However, I got in an accident and have now been prescribed a strict bed rest of at least 6 weeks.
Due to this I cannot even go for the GE/PI's of any college.
I have sent a mail to Infosys regarding this and attached my prescription and medical certificate to extend my DoJ.
Would they respond ?
Please do reply as I am freaking out.

generally the last batch for the current year would be towards the last week of march(8 weeks from now), so i think it would not be a problem

infy generally entertains genuine medical cases

even in the worst case, the training for the next batches starts in the first week of June....

so take good rest.. and check out ur mails for the new joining date from infy

Yeah dude. As long as your reasons are medical, they will accomodate. Relax, recover and join!
HII thanx for replying...but my doubt is apart from the medical tests...it is mentioned in the offer letter for the vaccinations for hepatatis a,b, typhoid, chicken pox...am i supposed to take all thes vacc. ..in infosys mail it is given that they are advising for it (vaccinations for the hepatatis a,b typhoid ,chiicken pox etc..)but at the same time they require the proof of the same to be submitted at the time of joining?

in some posts i have read that they didn't check whether u take all these vaccinations or not..
i want to confirm is this true... or am i supposed to take all these vaccinations?

there is no need to take any kind of vaccination from any hospital ...

Infosys generally take some time to reply to the "Request for extension" mails so dont worry
chill , you will surely hear from them in near future ..

Thank you for your replies folks.
I am worried though.
I had initially planned to leave for Mysore on 5th. What should I do if I don't get a reply by then.
Sorry for bothering you guys.

No need to worry. Infy might have given a contact number in their mail/offer letter/joining letter. Just call that number and inform them.

All iz well...

i got selected in infy(3.25 lpa) and cognizant(3.01 lpa) which 1 i should go with and what will be the initial inhand salary(and after trng) in infy as cognizant is offering 80 pct inhand.
my hometown is kolkata and probabaly for cognizant i will get posting there.....so is it worth going for infy???
and please seniors do let me know the inhand salary:D and career growth prospect in infy and cognizant
P.S---i also intend to enroll for mba within 2-3 yrs so which 1 would be better from that perspective

Congrats for both the offers. During training in Infy inhand salary will be around 15-16K. This is less because there will hostel charges and no performance incentive. Once you finish the training incentive depending on your performance will be given for all the months of training and you may get around 21-23K(again lot of parameters are included).

Exact in-hand will be something like this Net=Gross-Cuttings.
Gross=Basic+DA+Allowances+BonusExgratia+Performance Incentive(if applicable)
Cuttings=PF+Tax+Facilities etc

This is same for all the companies. May be during training CTS salary will be little high as there is no Hostel and they may give training incentive along with the training. I am not sure about after training salary in CTS. It may be around 20-21K.

Buddy, never predict the posting location. You may or may not get it. It completely depends on project requirement.

Salary part is mentioned above. Regarding career growth, it depends on the technology you work and the project you get into. So again none knows in which technology they will be trained . First things first, very less people work in the same company till their retirement and you tend to shift the companies:D. So not much difference between the two.

I always give suggestion like this:
1. If you are a CS guy/gal and wanted to join MBA within one year, go for CTS as there is no bond period there as far as i know.
2. If you are a CS guy/gal and wanted to settle in IT sector, nothing much difference between the two. If you get into latest technology any comapny will be good.
3. If you are Non-CS guy/gal and wanted to settle in IT sector, better join Infy as it provides basic understanding of all diff. areas in training.

So choice is yours.

Yes, how did you guess?

Hey buddy,

You can post your experiences. No issues with that. But basically this thread is Queries on Infosys. So post minimum so that this thread won't be overwhelmed with experiences :D.

Anyways, as long as you think your experiences will help future aspirants, you are more than welcome to do so.

Just a suggestion, go a little bit easy on the font. Keep it simple and sweet like mine .
