I wanted to know after how many days do we get some kind of confirmation letter stating that "we are through" from infosys after clearing interview.

I am b.tech. fourth year student & I got selected through "on campus" placement.

I request my would be senior infoscions to guide their new family member!


It usually takes considerable amt time to get the offer letter... You ll first get it via mail oly.. in my case it was after 5 months from the date of gettin selected that i received that holy mail

In my batch everyone got it in the month of may...
So most probably it ll be the same for u too...

i m in final year and have been placed in infosys and capgemini india and m in 2 minds about which one to join( a bit inclined towards infy). can anyone compare the scope and growth offered by capgemini india and infosys. the factors playing in my mind are the money paid in both the companies and the opportunity to learn. i have heard infy pays a lot less for the initial 1-2 years.
how is cg india compared to the main company. can anyone give me some idea about the training offered at capgemini india. i m more concerned about it since i m from a non cs it background..

We had formed one last year. This year I do not have IIM calls due to my weird DI percentile. Last year we had a nice group and had quite a few sessions on campus during free time, or even confys on communicator. There are also groups for CFA, etc. Put a post on General BB, and you can easily form a group.

I guess you're talking about Infosys, Mysore and you're still in training. Trainees are treated like school-children, someone blows a whistle even if you're not walking on the footpath. :-P

well cant comment about other companies but INFOSYS is one company you would love to be trained with MYSORE campus is one of a kind study hard play well and on the weekends make sure you get your dozes of movies in the multiplex and booze at purple haze or roost my training was the best part of my life as of yet so guys go ahead rock on

With my experience, the posting unit completely depends on Business Unit requirements. If you have a strong reason, you can get at least get your home town as posting location.Reasons should be like severe health problems(medical certis), family problems, marriage scenarios etc.

For this,inform your batch owner once you get into a stream. Sometimes, contacting HR after getting into stream may be helpful. But everything is for location only :-P

i had one more query. It is being stated among my circle that if a person has his CGPA on the higher end(closer to 5), he is forced to join E&R.;
Is there any truth in this???

Strictly NO, my dear friend. E&R; is one unit where you must have interest to teach and be in academia, without which your daily work will be difficult. Joining E&R; is ones' own choice. There is a CGPA criteria for it, but strictly none will be forced to join.

For more details, you can contact your batch owner. He might have lot of info on this.

in infosys mail it is given that they are advising for it but at the same time they require the proof of the same to be submitted at the time of joining?
what shuld i do now? plz anybody help...?
only 4 days are left .as iam leaving on 1st feb, my doj is 7th feb

Its better to have all the tests as specified by them..
However last yr they did not ask for all the test reports..but only for the single slip that the doctor (of one of the designated hospitals) writes....saying tht this candi0date has gone through all the medical tests...
There were some tests which according to the doctor were completely unnecessary...so he advised me to skip them ...and provided me with the final slip...

They are not going to check for vaccinations. To be on the safer side, get it written by your family physician or some doctor, that you have taken all 'necessary' vaccinations and you're fit to join the training program. No need to specify explicitly.
