Hi Mahesh,

As Infy has already confirmed your offer, no need to worry. Company will check all the pre-requisites(whether academic or experience) before offering a position. Since you have already got the Joining date, just take a chill pill and join the company on the specified date.

Answering to your query: I have never seen considering academics for laterals. Only thing that matters is : your performance in the present role.

By the way, Welcome to the family of Infosys

Hi Guys,

I have been selected for infosys with 7.1 lakhs/annum as an associate consulant.

My profile:

Work ex:2.5yers in cognizant
Aceds:10th 82.83,Diplma 64.91%,Engg:71.04,mba 70

They gave me an Emplyment Application Form to fill at the time of interview,in that there is a column have u ever attended infosys written test, for this i answered as no" in real i have taken infosys written in 2006 june and i clered written but couldn't cleared interview.

One more thing is that i have one year gap between diploma and engg and i forgot to fill this column.

They said it's an important document.will this creates me problems at the time of joining????? They said tentative date of joining is June.

Please answer ASAP me so that i can speak with my Placement coordinator and attend other companies.

You could have mentioned the correct details. It would not have jeopardised your offer. Infosys does run a background check on the academic scores through external agencies, but whether the point of a missing one year gap will be highlighted by them, is not clear. Similarly, there is no way one can tell whether they keep a record of people who have appeared for the written test in past, and if they do they run a check against every joinee. This seems quite far fetched. Only a person who has done a similar thing, that too recently (because they keep changing the policies towards stringency) will be able to tell.

What i can suggest is, if you dont want to let go of this offer, you should call the hr team and ask them to get you fill the employment form again as you believe that you might have made some mistakes in filling it up the first time. It WONT serve as a negative point after the offer has been made.

It seems very odd that an MBA with 2.5 yrs of experience will commit such a mistake deliberately. However, to each his own. No offense meant.
thanks a lot, man...it feels so nice to be helped by someone.u've been of great help...just one more question.. will i have any problem climbing up the ladders of success in the S/W industry, being a chemical engineer(that too a fresher with hardly any knowledge about programming language)...will that prove to be a hindrance from me...i m sure that friend of urs who got thru sapient must be a Com sc. engr.
and does infy have any working office in north india?
and can you please give me your email id, so that i can e-mail you. n manpreet, what do you mean by PM me...does that mean post message(i m sorry for being such an ignoramus)..thank you

Hi,
In north ..Infy have Development centre only in Chandigarh , one in Jaipur to but its basically BPO sector.
Dont worry about not being from CS/IT background...approx 50% or more employees in Infy are from non CS/IT background.
Just give your best :cheerio::cheerio:

Thanks for the reply, Regarding gap in academics i did mentioned the years and percentages correctly, but i forgot to fill the column (mention if there is any gap in academics),But it's not hi lighted. Can you Please provide me the infosys hr numbers.one more thing in the application form they haven't mentioned starting date of the course, they asked only the ending date.

Regarding this i didn't have any concerns even if they use external agency.
My Concern is only about the written test date,But i don't think they will maintain the data of 4.5 years old.If anybody knows about this please throw some light.

I personally completed my NSR procedure before joining but some candidates completed this procedure in Mysore itself after joining.

Probably they wont be having the written test data. As for the contact details, there are actually hundreds of HR's and i dont know which one handles which function. You need to contact the person who recruited you or has been in correspondance with you on the phone.

Wishing you all a very happy new year

Hi,

I received my offer letter after 2 1/2 months later, I got to know that, this delay is due to internal background check , once its clear,Infy release the offer.

Mine is lateral recruit with 8+ years of exper

My question to Infy friends is that, how many background check will infy perform on lateral joins and normally ,within how many days will this complete , so that this will help lateral joinees like me will aware of these things, its better lateral joinees should be intimated about this, as I was in misconception that , "I lost the offer"

Notice period is upto 3 months...depending when your manager is releasing you.

The proceedure to break the bond is to simply resign with personal reasons.
A few months later, Infy will send you a communication regarding the expenses you have to incur since you broke the bond.
There is a big calculation in determining the bond amount which has some fixed components (half salary paid till now, recruitment costs) as well as variable (no of hours spent on the machine).
After completing your training (im talking about the 6 month one) , the approximate amount is 1.5-1.75 lakhs..This may reduce if the training period is shortened...which is likely considering this year's hiring numbers... :cheerio:

Hi tripti,The trend more questions might have changed over the last year, so i would suggest you keep visiting FB and other groups as well as search for threads in pagalguy. For instance you can type in google the following " Infosys prep pagalguy". Also try other sources. The written is mostly about easy aptitude, which is a cakewalk if you are preparing for CAT. The interview is only to see whther you can communicate in English. All the best.

off campus jobs r available in infosys?

dereky133kg Says
off campus jobs r available in infosys?

If you mean "Off-campus selections",then yes. Infosys did selections through Off-campus. Generally, they will go to a particular college and students from all surrounding colleges will attend the selections in that college. Or sometimes you can see advertisements calling for selections like Job fairs.

P.S. This info is for Freshers

Hi folks.
I was just going through my offer letter(joining on 7th February) and I saw a section, and I quote:
"Infosys has always believed in surpassing customer expectations and has created several new benchmarks and
standards in security, service & quality, and in order to do this, we have maintained a strong focus on compliance.
NASSCOM, the premier industry organization has conceived the "National Skills Registry" that promises more
effective information security standards. It aims to register all the people working in our industry on a webenabled
database and uniquely identify each industry person based on bio-metrics. In case you have not registered
your self with National Skills Registry, you would be required to do so prior to your joining Infosys Technologies
Ltd. The cost of your registration with National Skills Registry will have to be borne by you. You would be
required to register with the National Skills Registry irrespective of whether you are in a technical role or a
business enabling role". For more information on national skills registry for registration, please visit

Does this mean I'll have to register for NSR before 7th February ?
