Yes NSR registry is mandatory before your joining. However, last yr they allowed people to join without NSR, but they were required to do so within 3-4 days of joining in Mysore. Better get it done now.
I have heard from some seniors of my college that if you survive for about 3-4 years in infy & then if you change your job, you will surely get 8-9lakhs of salary.
Can anyone please throw some light on it.
P.S: I am in BTech final year & got selected yesterday.

At a lateral level, it boils down to settling down vs working rigorously. The points Sapient has in favor would suit an engineer who has high ambitions and targets, wants challanging work.
At infosys, yes the onsite is more. The work purely depends on the project. It can be challanging or boring. Job stability is maximum. Folks with a "settling down" mood will like it more here.

I would rather ask you to stay away from these delusions. If you spend 2yrs out of the 3-4 yrs on bench, you wont be able to even switch your job. So please dont lay down hard core rules which can hurt you future planning.
A package of 8-9 lpa, or even higher for that matter, purely depends on your hard work and luck.
Luck, because it also depends which project and which work has been assigned to you and through that which technical skills you acquire from it.
Not to mention, communication also matters! All the best!

Nothing is hard dude....Infosys is the company which is having the maximum representation at IIMs.. Even IIM Khozikhode director had said.."every third guy attending GD/PI was from Infosys."

Absolutely !! Even Byju sir said the same in class here at Bangalore, that maximum number of IIM call getters and converts from his class are from Infy. People are discussing CAT preps on bulletin board and forming groups as well in office for prep.
Some Advice to new joinees..
1>Working in infy should just be a job not a career..
2>Always have a backup plan.Don't be dependent on infy.
3>Try to switch company if you are on bench for 6 continuous months..

Hi Sherni,
Infosys conducts off-campus and/or walk-ins. For the details, you should regularly watch English dailies and some job portals like Freshersworld etc.
Sometimes Infy conducts campus pool recruitment where in students from many colleges attend in a single college. Look out for those. Also get in touch with your friends from other companies to get the info.
I hope you will get job in your dream company.

If you mean "Off-campus selections",then yes. Infosys did selections through Off-campus. Generally, they will go to a particular college and students from all surrounding colleges will attend the selections in that college. Or sometimes you can see advertisements calling for selections like Job fairs.

I have no idea about dates of Off-campus selections. I am just one of the employees working in the company. You can check newspapers like Hindu, Time of India daily for any news. Also do check out job portals like Freshersworld, Monster etc.
Regarding the criteria, as far as I know: It used to be 65% throughout 10th,12th,graduation/post graduation and in one of them it had to be 68%. I did not remember the exact criteria, but it was something like I have mentioned above.
Any puys who have been placed recently can provide their inputs on the criteria part...

Yet another delusion.
Career enhancement is applicable to all verticals and horizontals. Even carpentry or selling vegetables for that matter. One can always improve and grow.
Remember, a project is developed in an Year but is maintained for 5-10 yrs....so if you compare the industrial demand, you will get more no of opportunities in maintainence project (whichever IT giant you switch to..)
People like development because they think its a great thing to do. Well, again it depends on what you are developing. Developing a calculator wont serve the purpose of career enhancement where as maintaining the supply chain of an OIL major would do just fine....
And even if one wants to shift, its not possible to change your stream or your project in the biggies...so work hard in whatever field you are...or change your field
