Guys infosys came for recruitment on 1 December 2010 in our college and selected 159 students and i am amongst one of them. Thanks to PG and all active members on this thread. Can an INFOSIAN provide me some material or details abt their training program.
Dude...you really want to study before the training? If you are ok with handling computers and writing a few lines of code in any language, i think you should just chill out. As during the training days, you will be learning a lot

Pulkit I have got sufficient amt of time left prior to training thus it would be better if i brush up my technical skills:cheerio:,but pls if you have any training material pls share that with me.
Hi, i appeared in Infosys' off campus recruitment drive on 24-25 October in New Delhi. I have got my offer letter and DOJ is 7th February 2011. My query is, do I need to send anything to them to confirm my appointment. ?
I want to know about capgemini...? Which city is best for capgemini in terms of training and overall work culture?? And what can be the increment for a freshers in capgemini after 2 years...? Initial CTC provided is 3.15, will be joining in june.
Hi Vipul, If nothing is mentioned in the offer letter about sending the details, you need not do anything. Generally Infy will take care of all these activities. Only thing you need to do is join the company on the mentioned date and complete the formalities like NSR etc, if they are mentioned in the offer letter. Hope to see you here(Mysore) in Feb 2011. Regards, Hemanth

Thank you for the reply.:cheerio: The following statement appears in the offer letter. "We request you to please carry a signed copy of the offer letter on the day of your joining as a token of your acceptance." So I don't think I need to send anything, do I ?

It is not advisable to share any Infosys prepared material outside the company. However, you can download all the materials they have provided on their campus connect website. It is more or less the same they use in training. But seriously, a 6 month training is enough to learn what you are expected to learn in the industry.

Yep. You need not do anything, if it is not mentioned in offer letter  You just have to bring the offer letter along with you. In case you don't have a passport, pan card etc, this is the best time you can apply as you will get those before your doj.
Yes thats true but now they have included one more criteria that if you have failed in a module i.e. secured less than 65% in retest... your marks should not be less than 50%
well puys......i heard that infy offers around 14k during training and after it 21 k:thumbsup: ............but cts offers around 20k during training.......so will it not be better to join cts?? what are the xtra advantages i can get if i join infy? i heard of an increase in pay package 4 freshers os infy is that right??

Hmm....if you consider salary as a parameter for joining then have a look at this:
Salary for freshers : 13.6 k 3 star room rent : 3.2 k (you will spend the same amount for a very low grade accomodation in Bangalore/Mysore outside the campus) Training incentive : 2.5 - 4.5 k (depending on performance)
Total take home salary during training : 18.3-20.3
Apart from this you have PF and gratuity which accouts for approx 1.2 k
After training salary would also vary according to your performance in training This would be : 23k-25k
Other parameters : Best IT Training in the industry, Infrastructure, Facilities, Events and a lot more....

3 goods: 1. truly flat work culture and open door policy (you can always contact the next level of hierarchy of the one below is not able to satisfy you with your concern)
2. world class faclities (google and wiki will explain better)
3. Job security. Infy's policies are made in accordance to the values set by its founders. In my knowledge, infy is the safest IT company to work for. Even in times of recession, it had fired employees only for legitimate reasons (some people may disagree) But the no of lay off were the lowest among other companies and none were due to lack of business. It was said that there were 30,000 people on bench in 2009.
Likely Disadvantages:
1. Lower no of annual leaves than industry peers 2. Too much process oriented : Once you get here, you will know there is a proceedure for everything (right from parking you car to accomplishing mandatory certifications). Depends on the individual how he takes it. This may be good or bad. Given an organisation of this size, some processes have to be followed.
I will not be able to comment about life @ infy for 8+ exp lateral. Things may be different at diff levels. And i certainly dont know anything about HP's policies and culture, so cant comment. But weigh you CTC and position offered before making a decision....

Both are different categories. Mu sigma is an analytics firm. Infy bieng an IT major. You need to decide whether you want to work in technology (Java, DotNet, Oracle, SAP etc) or in Analytics (involving a lot of maths )
It also depends on you future aim, ie whether MBA or MS. MBA: musigma MS in computer science: Infy
Plus, the advantage of small organization is slightly more benefits (free lunches , cabs) and more freedom The disadvantage, (if you call it one) would be that you may have to work in more than one areas and for long hours, but thats how you learn more. In large organisations, roles and responsibilities are fixed and there are no exceptions to the stringent policies. Somehow, i get the feeling that work load is on the lesser side in the giant companies..

Well frankly, you wont be knowing anything about the analytical tools used and processes followed at mu sigma either. You have to learn anyways, where ever you go.
