1st Jan is normally a holiday in Infy.
However i am not currently in Mysore and can't say for sure if Mysore DC has a holiday(it will most probably have it). Send a private message to Anchun to get more details since he is currently in Mysore DC.

-> Nobody bothers what you do on your holidays. Bear in mind though that if you leave on a saturday then it will be anything between 10 pm - 12 midnight before you reach bangalore.

-> you can travel to bangalore on each and every one of your weekends. no issues. if however you have to attend a GDPI on a weekday then you will have to apply for paid leave.

Can't really comment much on the 1st question.....all i can say is wait
2) You can't really say that one particular DC is better than the other. However there are some DC's in the south that have SAP projects....a prime example being Mangalore. However you will find interesting projects elsewhere too. They also say about Chandigarh DC that there is a heavy bench there. But that again is only a phase.

With regard to Finacle, it is one of the highest revenue earning products for Infy. You can't exactly say that Finacle is of no use at all.........but it is true to an extent. I have interacted with a few people and they said that working on Finacle and then moving out of Infy at a later stage may leave you a bit 'too specialised' on the job market. But rest assured, within Infy, Finacle has a place of honor.

Change of streams is possible on the choice of any employee is very rare and if not impossible it is next to impossible. However, if Infosys wants you to work in any other stream, then they can ask you so.

I have been recuited On Campus By Infosys in January 2010. I have got Infosys joining date 13-Dec-2010. But I have also been selected by TCS in their Off Campus Drive. They have given me Offer Letter but their Joining Letter is yet to come. I am a Non CS/IT student and don't know much about Computer Languages . I am having great confusion as I have no idea to join which company. I want to know Which is better Company out of two for me? Which Company will provide me better work atmosphere and job security? Also, I am looking to pursue MBA after 2-3 years Work Experience. So which company is better to join? Please help me with your suggestions. I am looking forward to your responses. Thanks in advance.
With my experience, I have found that both TCS and Infosys are same. However, Infosys is a wonderful company to start your career. It is because the training there is very good in terms of not only content but also other dimensions as well. You make some new friends that remain with you for life.
If you are from non-CS/IT then Infy is the right choice.

The e-docket is part of the Infosys internal network which you can't access before you join the company. Please read the details again. There's probably been some mistake in reading.

It would be within 30 days of DOJ. You have to submit the pan card details and copy of pan card within 30days of DOJ. Your salary will not be credited to your account unless you submit the pan card details.

If the portal is saying that they have sent the offer. Then wait or contact your nearest post office. If you didn't get it then contact Infosys. You must have received soft copy of offer by email. If yes, then don't worry. It will work.

Contact the Infosys guys again for hard copy. My friend too did not receive it. When he contacted the guys at infy they sent him the cop again. The hard copy is important since the service agreement comes with it.

Then it is fine. Why are you worried? If you do not receive the hard-copy then take the printout of the soft copy with you at the time of joining. During induction they will give you the hard-copy to proceed with the formalities. Stop worrying!! Enjoy!!

Read the following information from my offer letter and reply your comments:splat:
2. Probation Period and Confirmation as a Permanent Employee
You will be on probation for a period of six months from your date of joining the Company and may be confirmed as a
permanent employee upon successful completion of your probation. Please note that as per Company policy, the
employee would be confirmed on the 1st day of the month succeeding the month of completion of probation of six
months from the date of joining the Company or after the period of probation, whichever is later.
In addition to your performance during the probationary period, your confirmation as a permanent employee is subject
to your submitting the requisite documents as required by the Company. Two copies of the following (To be provided
on the date of your joining the Company. Please refer to the clause on 'Background Checks' for further details) will
constitute the required documents:
1. Class 10 (or equivalent) Marks Sheet/s
2. Class 12 (or equivalent) Marks Sheet/s
3. Graduation Marks Sheet/s
4. Final Graduation Degree Certificate
5. Post Graduation Marks Sheet/s (if applicable)
6. Diploma Certificate (if applicable)
7. Relieving letter / experience letter (in case you are already employed) from all previous employers (as
applicable)
8. Passport
9. National Skills Registry
10. PAN Card ("Under Income Tax laws, disclosure of your Permanent Account Number (PAN) to Infosys
Technologies Limited is mandatory. Please disclose your PAN to Infosys on or before 30 days from the day

Please note that the above mentioned documents should be uploaded and approved in the e-docket application 15days
prior to the due date of confirmation. Your confirmation with the Company may be withheld in case of failure to submit
the aforementioned documents. The period of probation can be extended for a further period of six months or part
thereof as per the Company Policy.

Read the lines marked above. There is a difference between probation and confirmation. You have to upload the documents two weeks before the completion of your training.
So if your training period goes on for 4 months, then you have to upload the documents within 3 months and 15 days after joining the company.
