my query is ...i hav done 10th from ICSE board wid 58.6% as an aggregate of all 6 subjects and 60% aggregate is of top 5 subjects(As in icse we consider aggregate of top 5 subjects) so whether i m elegible for infy or not?in my CV i have mentioned 60%...KINDLY HELP ME OUT SOON IN THIS.rest i hav 69% in 12th n 71% in b.tech.

hey Guys my date of joining is 13th December, i got an opportunity to do My masters degree in US on scholarship, can i write a letter to INFY people requesting to extend my date of joining till i complete my masters course in America? can i join the Infosys company Abroad? waiting for reply!
I have given the infosys interview on 13th september and they told that they will confirm through mail whether i am selected or not.
So can any1 here reply how much time do infosys takes to reply as it is already 12 days past.
And also can u tell as how much infy pay during the training period and what is the ctc given by the infosys.

Hmm....weird situation....infy normally tells you whether you've been selected or not after the interview itself........they normally take time to send you the offer letter.
Pester the guys at HR with mails till you get a reply. :)

My initital ODJ at infosys was on 2nd AUg 2010, but as I was doing my internship in Germany till July end I applied for extension, and supplied all the relevant documnets on Sep 9 (letter confiriming from college director, project guide and marksheets), now the infi people have told me that the next DOJ is in the hands of the company , I mean they should atleast tell me a rough idea for how long should I wait, can anybody help me in this regard?

Next DOJ will ideally be with the next batch that comes along.....new batches join every week, so don't be too worried about it.

Consult your college placement cell regarding this. If the government has said that only the average of the top 5 scores is to be considered then i don't think it should be a problem.

Whoa, do you have long term plans or what?!
I really doubt they will grant you an extension of 2 years until you complete your post-grad education. And your job profile too will change once you're done with your Master's degree.

But u knw i have also heard earlier that infy tells the result on the same day but this time it didnt happen...I also have consulted many of my frnd who has appeared for the interview on that day..and nobody has got the result.
Thing is that i knw they will give result but they are taking time and i am not able to concentrate on another thing.
I thought if i will not be selected here then i will go for giving cat/xat/jmet and due to which i have not filled up the form for the cat whose deadline is very near i.e on 30th.
I am confused of what to do.
Please suggest me.

Don't delay in filling up the CAT form :nono:
Fill it up first, you have plenty of time later to decide whether you want to give the CAT or not.
Besides my gut feeling tells me that even if infy gives you the final call to join, even then the joining date will take atleast a few months, before which you will be done with your CAT.

I am having great confusion as I have no idea to join which company. I want to know Which is better Company out of two for me? Which Company will provide me better work atmosphere and job security? Honest advice would be to get in touch with professionals from both companies before making your decision
With regards to Infy, the work culture is awesome....and as my senior manager once said 'Infosys is a very humble company'
As far as both companies are concerned, they are giants in this sector......don't expect 'quality' work experience in either company atleast for the 1st year since you are one among 1 lakh+ people. By chance if you get a good project then you will be very lucky indeed
Try instead to get into a smaller company if you can....you will get more responsibilities which you can add to your profile when going for an MBA 😃

In hand salary for us from Jan to June this year during training was approx 13000.
During training girls get more than the guys because they have to pay less for the double sharing rooms.
After training it goes up to 21-22k thereabouts

1.my DOJ is 27dec and as xat is on 2nd jan i'l prefer bangalore as center but i dont know whether i'l be able to make it to center as i hv heard that non cs-it guys have to work on saturdays too + i dont know which center will be close to mysore campus ..
2.i know that laptops are not allowed in the campus but can i keep it my hostel room which i'l be alloted and use it there itself only.

1) You have heard correctly that the 1st few saturdays are working.
However you can leave the campus on saturday evening and go stay in bangalore overnight. I too had to do the same when i gave NMAT in Jan this year.
2) Laptops are rejected at the point when you enter the campus for the 1st time.
Campus includes the hostel room too, doesn't it?

well i would like to share the training durations for the CS and the non CS people .
the INFOSYS training for the CS people has been divided into 3 parts:
1. bridge course : it goes on for nearly one month only with exceptions when we have too many holidays during the course.
2.intermidiate course: this course goes on for about nearly one month and 20 days (including working and nonworking)
3.stream specific: while this course goes for exactly 30 working days .(including working and nonworking)
for the nonCS people there is some difference in the course structure.
1.basic training : goes on for one and half month (including working and nonworking)
2.intermidiate course: this course goes on for about nearly one month and 20 days (including working and nonworking)
3.stream specific: while this course goes for exactly 30 working days .
so the only difference here between the CS and the non CS pepole is the duration of basic training goes for a little bit longer than the bridge course for the CS people.
while regarding the salary the total salary is nealry 13.5k in hand and they do not provide free food so we have to pay for food everyday .
so in all that goes to nearly 8-9k savings /month during training.

My two cents on this : There is absolutely no difference in working for either of these companies. What matters is the project you get into/your H1B visa status which you will come to know only after the 3-4 months of training - so don't think too much
If CAT/XAT/GMAT is your final aim, I would suggest you to take the job which gives you a home location or any other location where you think you can concentrate and study for 2-3 hours a day. Cities like Mumbai or Delhi may have a lot of opportunities but day-today travelling takes a huge toll.
By the way I used to work for infy long back and am now doing my MBA internship in TCS :D

After training, amount goes upto 21 odd in hand
Performance bonus for training depends on your final CGPA
If you are 5 pointer you stand to get something like 25k as a 1 time payout and every month you get 1000 extra with your regular salary too if i'm correct
if it is above 4.5 but less than 5 you get a bonus of 15k odd
for below 4.5 im not sure if you get anything......can Anchun please confirm?
