my joining is on 18th oct but i want to postpone it til january. can anybody telme what procedure do i need2 follow? and how many months in advance it should be done??
also i want to know..how long is the training period for non-cs ppl?
i joined infosys on 24th august 2009 and will be completing a year here this august. just need to ask what would be my bond amount if i leave infy now? my date of confirmation is due on 1st march 2011.
When is your bond end date? Also, you can calculate the amount as per the details given in the agreement. However, you can talk and convince your delivery manager. He/She will be able to waive the bond with consent from higher admin.

Call Infy HR who is your point of contact as per the offer letter MAIL (it will be in the mail and not offer letter) and ask them to postpone your date of joining. It can be done anytime before joining with a proper reason.
also i want to know..how long is the training period for non-cs ppl?
Normally, it is around 4 months. But it can be adjusted as per the business needs.

The training period and the probation period are different things.
U r in training for almst 4-5 mnths nd then u have a probation period of 1 year. So, effectively the bond is for almost 1 nd a half years.
The amount to be paid is a variable depending at what time you break the bond. The amount varies from 30k-1L and is calculated dynamically.
If you break the bond erly u wl hav 2 pay more and if u break the bond near the end you wl hv 2 pay less ...

Some of my friends related to me that " if you are not from a CSE-IT background you will be posted in Department related to Testing and Mainframes". Hi,
This is not true. Your friends have given you wrong information.
People from non CS/IT Background work in almost all possible technologies whether it be Java , .NET , Mainframe, SAP, Oracle etc. I myself was in SAP despite being from EC Background and many of my friends from other branches are working across all possible units in all possible technologies.

i had 2 questions
1. i have an ipod-dock wid my me, which im planning on carrying there. it is just a music system that plays music through the ipod , but since there is no mention about it anywhere i thought id clarify. so will they allow it? (its quite bulky, id be in a limbo if i take it over there and they reject it)
2. i did my nsr and am awaiting the card, however im not at home, or for that matter no one is for some days. what if, the post arrives during that time?

1. the ipod dock should be fine....ppl carry DVD players into their rooms so a dock would be fine
2. many ppl apply for NSR after reaching mysore.....so its not super urgent for you to procure the same........
as for the post arriving when you are not home....i guess u will have to go to ur local post office and enquire about the same

If you have already received the soft copy then you might have also received the accommodation details as well in a separate email. It will also have FAQs which will answer your queries.

My date of joining is Dec 13th and prior to that another college from my area (CMR in Hyderabad to be precise) is conducting a Campus Connect program. is it compulsory to attend the Campus Connect program?
As an addendum, some of the members of Orkut forum have said that if my college is not conducting the program then we need not attend the Campus Connect!. is this true? waiting for the reply. thanks

The campus connect program is not at all compulsary. Infact, i would not suggest u doing it because there is not much difference it would put when u rch here ...
If u rlly wnt 2 stdy, go thru sum basic C nd RDBMS books and learn some concepts ...

It said that it is necessary for the all students placed in infosys to attend the program but i believe that mail was from our college . Is it really compulsory to attend the program ?

It is not necessary to attend it. Campus connect training does not matter anymore, as everyone has to go through the Long cycle training now.

They'll put you in the next batch.. or in the last batch of your year.. wait for their communication..
