i wasnted to ask if at all i clear the training modules and am alloted a particular city is there ne chance that i can ask for a change in the city alloted to me??


a swap policy is available for the same.you can swap ur location wid sum one else who is in d same stream and holds a similar (not exact) cgpa as yours.the range of cgpa within which u can swap will be told wen the postings are done.

Hello everyone.
my doj for infy is 15th nov. but i m giving cat10 . So i will be applying for extension.

1) Though previous threads say that extension time is in infy's hands but still what is the max time they can extend to. Coz if they give me a new doj like somewhere in feb-march then its of no use.

2) Also do they confirm the medical reasons provided for extensions by some local doctor or the relevant scans are enough?

its not that if u fail once (even in the retest ) u will be asked to leave.if u have cleared the basic module,ur scores will be monitored till the end of intermediate training.a comprehensive test is then conducted.
if u fail in dat and the re-compri,and ur cgpa is less than 4.(which might not be the case if u have done well in oder modules)then u will be referred to the hr.

my doj is in oct n the problem is if i make it to a good b-school this time, the result of which will come not before april or may..hw will i quit the company without getting black listed in nsr......failing in the tests was the only option but that can be done only after the result is out n i m sure of getting admission in some gud coll.
so shd i assume that failing in the comprehensive test( which i think is mandatory) can solve all the problems even if i had been maintaining a moderate cgpi.

n does this nsr thing really matters a lot??...i have heard that even companies frm fields other than software have also starting referring to it...so it might create a problem in future career prospects.

yes, failing in comprehensive test two times means you are out of the system no matter how good your CGPA is before the compre..

Also look at it this way...what if u do not join Infy and you do not get into some good B-School (i mean you might be very good but you cannot vouch on something that is not in your hand)...look at both sides of the coin before you take a decision

but we r given a time limit of 6 months to 1 yr for dat..

can you plss give me some more details about e-docket? about what all has to be included in e-docket and how to do it? what s the last date for submitting e-docket..etc

Srry to keep u waitin ...

1. The extension time is actually in infy's hands and no one can predict th next date-of-joinin. They generally try and give it at a gap of 1-2 mnth but it could as well stretch to 2-3 mnths. THe good thng is tht thy will certainly honor the offer unlike many other companies ...

Failing in th test is not the only option.
There is a legit way where u submit ur resignation, pay a penalty amount , take a work-ex certi and then leave the comapny ...
Ths way thr wud nt be any spots on ur NSR profile ..

The general hitch is the amount to be paid which gnrlly varies btwn 30k-1L.
But, if u get such a gd b-school, paying tht wud be an investment on urself ...

Ths nsr is a new initiative frm IT companies and its bttr nt to be on the wrng side ...

Contact HR and ask them to resend it. How did u lost the soft copy? Did you delete it??

e-docket and e-joining are 2 diferent thngs in infy ...

e-joining is what is completed as a part of joining formalities and u need 2 fill it up before comin 2 mysore or else u wl hv 2 fill it as a 4-page form in pen nd ppr whn u complt ur formalities here ...

e-docket is a space in ur personal profile in infy where u maintain all the details such as the educational certis etc.
u need nt wrry abt th e-docket rite nw as u need to complete it 6 weeks before u complete ur trainin nd get posted. So, thts nt a concern 4 u ppl nw ...

The OFFICIAL communication is tht it will be 26 wks for CS/IT nd 29 wks for Non CS/IT but tht is the MAXIMUM duration undr ny circumstances ...

The trng duratn communicated to us in th plcmnt ppt was of 4 mnths. We are hoping tht it wud end within 4 mnths but the training duration depends entirely on the buisness requirements and nthng can be predicted ...

However the UNOFFICIAL buzz is tht it wud end within 4 mnths ths time ...

Of course, it wl cause problem...
The infy guards wl let u in the campus for the 1st time only whn thy verify ur offer lttr ...
U wud need the offr lttr 2 cmplt ur joinin formalities ...

The best way wud be to either call or mail the HR Department nd make a
request 2 resend the offer letter ...

In ur case, the gud thng is tht u hv gt a DOJ of december. The hard copy shud reach by then. If u hv th hrd copy it will nt b a problem then ...

But, do mail th HR promptly nd get a soft copy of ur offer letter.
Its alwys btter 2 hav ur paprs in plc ...

Don't panic. Just contact HR. They will help you out. The problem will arise when you don't receive the hard copy of the offer. So, it is better to contact HR and ask them to resend it. They will either send you the offer letter or ask you to come with an identity proof handy when you reach Infosys for joining. It is better to call HR.

i had one more query...does failing in any of the intermediate tests extends the duration of training??...like r we transferred to some other batch until we pass the particular module?? wat steps do they take if a student flunks twice in a particular test?

Just luk into the INFY website nd try 2 find th HR section thr or else catch hold of ny of ur friend's offer letter. A number mst be mentioned thr as a recruitment helpline. cl thm up nd dnt get tensed ...

we have gt module tests nd a compre tests.
The module tests are ur chapter-wise tests nd the compre is ur semester exm.

For evry module u wl get a re-test if u flunk in th test. Thr's an exit policy if u flunk in 3 re-tests or u flunk in the compre-retest.

For NCS people if u fail certian modules but pass the compre test the training period gets extended nd u r asked to join the subsequent batches.

I wud say that passing here is not a big thing. It takes efforts alrite but u can pass. The problem is to continuosly maintain good grades.
U shud nt wrry abt al ths thngs rite nw.

u wl hv a lot of studying to do here so njoy ur remaining days nd thn come here...

Do nt wrry rite nw abt flunking or retests etc....
