Hey, I have my joining on this monday but going thru pg i came to know trng for non cs ppl (im from chemical) is around 6 months whreas i was in a conception that it will be just 4 months. Now I am really confused. Also, I was enrolled in B.Tech. MBA dual degree program (GGSIPU, kashmere gate, delhi) and classes for the same finish in feb next year. So its like ether i leave now or wait till feb to finish mba as well. Placements are not even worth mentioning. So can i ask for an extention quoting this reason? Also, I really really need to know after how long can one expect to be posted in delhi/ gurgaon?

- the training is for 131 days in total.
- extension is approved only for genuine reasons like medical etc (refer offer letter
) and not for personal reasons.- as far as posting is concerned, it is based on business requirements. Although, one can swap with another willing persons.
Hey, i am awaitng my final year results. So should i fill the NSR now or after my results. My date of Joining is 6th Sept so i have a bit of time still and i am expecting my results in august sumtime.

Its always advisable to complete these formalities at the earliest but u can get it done when u get ur results ...
It takes a day to do the online registration and then the biometric verification and u get ur NSR number in ur mail within a week ...
So, do it at least a week prior to coming here ...
we have a POS centre at mysore itself so u can come here and also get it done ...

Myself vijaylaxmi.I have given the interview on 19th june 2010.I have cleared both technical and HR round.I got a call from inf HR saying that would you like to work for production support.At that time i told no...I called one of HR you have send me the interview call letter regarding my status.. I would say that u go and meet the HR guy personally ...
A lot is at his discretion but be prepared for the worst ...
U can call their HR helpline .. The number would be mentioned in any of the letters u would have got from infy 😃

U r talking about continuing a course whose placement is not even worth mentioning ...
wats the use of completing such a course ... u would again be at the same cross-roads at the end of ur course...
Only medical reasons are allowed and that too, u wud hv 2 produce proof for the same !!! U hv 2 attch scanned copies of medical prescriptions etc. along with the mail u send asking for an extension.
Infy does not have any development centres in the NCR region. The closest u hv to delhi is Chandigarh but the posting is very random and depends on the business requirements ...

Yes im aware that delhi ncr dsnt have DCs but i heard that employees are posted to all the technology centres once probation period is completed, is it true?

(i hav no idea wht this NES thing is all about). sm1 told me that if v get blacklisted from NES then..aftr doing MBA..we would find it difficult to get a job in a cmpny which also make us fill NES form (as v r allready been blacklisted).

Very common dilemma
There are 2 ways to break the bond
1) you can just walk out of the company, infy will slap a court case and a fine on you and you will blacklisted by all companies that are under NSR(not a very good idea :nono:)
2) you can flunk all ur tests in infy training and they will throw you out automatically.........no court case and no blacklisting involved here :)
Leave infy only if you are getting a really good b-school(like maybe top 15)....else its best to continue

Specialisations are offered randomly in Infy
Specialisations offered are as follows
- Java
-.NET
- Mainframes
- Business Intelligence
- Open Systems
- SAP(offered very very rarely)
The probability for getting SAP is rather low........only 1 among every 10 odd batches gets it.....you need to be really lucky

the current batches which are in stream (2009 passouts) have got SAP as stream..but u can never bank on it
and it would not do any good to u expecting a particular stream as there is no choice to select ones fav stream............
take the stream as it comes

Once you get to Mysore, you only have to study for 5 months....so chill for now

c) wouldnt it b a bad pint in my cv dat i coudnt cmplete infy's training succesfuly?
3. isnt there any mutual way..are'nt infy HRs considerate enough if v tel them that we want to pursue MBA now and they allow us to leave (even without taking bond amt)? do you know any such cases?

2 a) the timing part is a problem indeed.....thats a problem that you will have to manage personally
b) if you are thrown out then u wont get a work ex certi
c) again that's something that u will have to live with......three people from my batch left for their M.S. leaving training midway......you could choose to not put it on your CV of course
3) never expect HR's to be considerate in such cases. The company spends approx $5000 per employee for training......if after so much investment on their part you choose to leave then no person is going to be considerate
4) getting blacklisted is a bad thing only if u want to return to mainstream IT at a later stage(or possibly in a non-technical capacity).....if you are shifting ur domain completely to something like Marketing or Operations then you need not worry much

2). What factors decide the post trng compensations?
3). Does infy consider serious family responsibilities at the time of final postings? Can i state this as a reason for a preffered location?

1) Completing the training is relatively easy....on an average about 90% of students clear it
2) Post training compensation depends on ur CGPA in training.....clearing the training is one thing....clearing it by maintaning a CGPA of 5/5 is difficult.
3) Family responsibilities, health probs etc. don't count for much.....the HR will ask you that if you had responsibilities then how come u managed to come to mysore in the 1st place?
4) Bond amount for probation is not fixed.....but it is higher than 1 lakh for sure
Are we allowed personal laptops at the mysore campus or is there a strict restriction on it? How important is it to have completed the material snet in form of modules before trainig for the Non- CS/IT guys?

Laptops are not allowed inside mysore campus and it is for security reasons it seems...:-(
