DL is not compulsory but passport is. If you don't have a passport now,make sure you get one at the earliest.

Yes. It will be around 6 months for non-IT students.

As far as i know, there is no chage in the training days
there are few modifications in the course material
and earlier, the first 2 months all saturdays use to be working days..now they are done with that rule
so people can enjoy from the first weekend itself

its not required....but before coming here..its bette to apply...
since once u come here..u will be given posting immediately...so its better to license at ur home town itslef..if u are as good driver as me

for cs students its abt 26 weeks.....and many ppl go to their home on weekends depending on the schedule of the module tests.
How do we travel from bangalore airport to infosys mysore? How much do cabs charge? Is there a bus service near the airport?
Also, what about travelling from bangalore railway station to mysore? Is there a bus service near the station and how much is the cost?

from bangalore airport buses are there for bangalore city bus stand every 15 minutes....so u can use dem instead of cabs which can charge u nething from 500-700....use bus to reach majestic and den from city us stand dere sre volvos for mysore every 10 mins....once u reach mysore bus stand u can take a prepaid auto or a bus...bus wud take about 1 hour to reach infy whereas autos only 20 mins....
bus service here is gr8 so don't worry about dem...

its 26 weeks for CS....sat/sunday is off if technical module is on...if there is leadership module den sat is working...u can do watever on weekends...but have to keep in mind d in timings.....u will know about evrythin wen u reach here....

Can anyone tell me when should i mail them about my plans for extension? Is the 1st week of sept. quite appropiate?
in addition, what are the reasons that are considered valid.
and if medical reasons are valid, what sort od documents one has to provide

The training duration depends totally on the business requirements ...
the traning period was extended bcz of the recession as well as bcz the atttrition rate had dropped ...
when the 2010 batches start coming out thr wl be a gap of 3 mnths almost from the last batch joining of th 2009 passouts and the 1st batch joining of the 2010 passouts. So, v r hoping tht v wl nt have 2 endure such a long training ...
Ths time onwards its a 5-day week if u r undergoin technical training and 6-day week if u r in the soft-skills training prgrm.
Going home is alwys an optn but only if u leave by friday evng and return by monday morning(traveling time included) ...

The earlier u inform them the better it is ...
but do it only when u r sure about it ...
Once, u apply for extension the next date of joining is totally in thr hand and u can not do anything about it !!!
The only reasons valid are medical reasons ...
If you have any other reason dnt even think of mentioning it ...
Get as many documents as you can ... the medical test reports, the prescriptions, the hospital bills ... u wl hav to scan them and attch it wth ur mail whn u apply for an extension...

The training is of 5 months(including ILI) for CS batch and 3 weeks extra for non-cs people.
As for extended training,it completely depends upon business requirements.As far as i know,not even a single batch since october'09 got extended training.
Hey, i am awaitng my final year results. So should i fill the NSR now or after my results. My date of Joining is 6th Sept so i have a bit of time still and i am expecting my results in august sumtime.
