this might seem a bit off-topic,still i need an answer..our campus interviews start this august and i am preparing for all softy companies. it is especially hard for me beacuse i am doing civil engg. ,so this complete change of field is getting a bit hectic for me,nevertheless, i am doing my best at c/c++... so what is want to ask is... is that enuff ?? i am pretty confident that i'll clear the aptitude section but in the technical paper if they sql/DS/OS and all.. i am gone, so... is it mandatory to clear all the sections... i have heard that a good aptitude will generally see u through an infosys interview... how true is it ?
As far as i know infy generally tests for learnability in the student ,not what the student already knows
and they don't give any technical questions in written exam and interview is more of HR kind... so have good aptitude and communication skills and u can clear through verbal part is some thing people fear abt...but u being in pg for some time ,i don't feel it would spell trouble for u
PS:All data given by me is absolutely true acc to 2008 recruitment and i have no idea if there is any recent change in the question paper

i converted school of petroleum management gandhinagar and infosys and really confused what to opt for....... my cat score was 81 percentile xat 98 percent
My initial date of joining was 21st june 2010. I applied for extension of my date of joining by sending them a mail on 17th June 2010 but till now i haven't received any response from their side.I did attach the relevant documents with the mail.
After how many days do we get a response from them. Please share your experiences.Please help me out.

you should have got the reply before....i got a reply stating send more documents today when i applied for it on 17th for doj 25 June...so keep mailing them, they are pretty slow about it...

Whatever you've heard is true..they dont generally ask technical questions in interview and the written round only tests for the aptitude...the interview is more of a casual conversation with the interviewers wherein they look for your learnability and conversation skills,and your overall personality..so clearing an infosys interview should not be much of a problem if u have done well in your written test.

am frm the 7th june joinin ... u can do the e-joinin thing on paper ...its advisable to do it before coming but not necessary ...
but you will have 2 fill all the details on the paper during the HR induction...

m @ infy mysore june 7th batch.well as for your query one of my friends had applied for an extension and was granted the same within 20 dayz,so i guess u need 2 be a bit patient. they will surely reply back to u.

Hectic..it depends on how u take but u have exm every 2 or 3 days to keep u busy enough going for an extension is not a very bad choice..but how long u are going to extend... if ur new joining date is some where in nov and if u get calls from colleges,u will not be having enough time to prepare for gd/pi's
regarding ur knowledge of cs subjects,nothing is required... we teach u from scratch so if u can manage some time in infy(trainees do get time to spend in gym,hang out with friends) and jon for some test series(we have time,cl near by) u can manage or else go for extension ...and later u can decide decission is entirely urs

i got placed in infy thru campus placements. had my initial doj in november and now preponed to july end. the problem is that i have a backlog which i would have cleared before joining with the previous dated...now it would not be possible before joining.My queries are: 1.Should i ask for extension or forget about infy? 2.will i get an extension if i ask for it?...since mentioned no extension would be given for personal reasons. 3.Should i give the reason as backlog pending or any other reason (health,etc)? frankly i want to be honest because i believe that honesty pays... 4.I have made up my mind to give CFA level 1 this dec. and hope to clear it.Should i focus on my CAT preparation?(read:I am not too keen to join IT,but work-ex is helpful) 5.Off the record.....please advise on the above points for wipro too(if possible) as i have got into that too.(my bad luck)
@indiana jones 1. ask for extension 2. YES. this ain't personal reason. 3. be honest, no problem 4. ppl tend to screw all the things when aim too many. prioritize plz. if u r more interested in fin find a job there for some months. 5. dunno abt wipro but if u have offer frm both infy should be first choice

I have registered at the online portal of NSR and have with the Acknowledgement Form that gets generated after filling in the personal, educational and professional details.
I wanted to know if i need to get the POS verification done in Delhi itself, or can i get it done in Mysore? If getting it done in Mysor is possible, then the only documents i require are still the ID Proof and the Acknowledgement Form, right?
Also, if i do get verification done in mysore will it be possible to get my card delivered in mysore itself?

u can get it done in mysore but its better to do in delhi itself and then come. Do not postpone anything for the last ...
the card will be delievered 2 ur permanent adress only in any case ... u just need the number to fill in the infy joining form which u will get in ur mail once u r done with the POS verification...

Yes, verification can be done in mysore . You need ID proof and acknowledgement form for mysore as well.
The card will be delivered at the address filled by you while registering at online portal. However, you can check it with NSR Personnel at time of visiting them in mysore if address can be changed.
