In you are a NON-COMPUTER SCIENCE trainee then you will have 1st 6 saturdays as working days.....for CS trainees it is the 1st 3 saturdays
As for production, you have 5 working days officially.........but if a project is nearing a deadline then you may have to work on saturdays at times too
I had certain queries:
1. Are there no single seated rooms for girls? None at all?? In case of twin sharing, do we get to choose our roommates?
2. During training days, will we get enough time to join mba coaching classes(weekend) ?
3. I read in the previous posts that all trainees will be allotted laptops, can we use those laptops to write online mock cats?
4. My DOJ is 21st June, will i get accommodation if I report on 20th?

(1) Single seated rooms for girls are very rare....depends only on availablity. You cannot choose your roommate in most cases....but if you and your friend report together then there is a good chance of the same
(2) During training days joining classes is "IMPOSSIBLE".....there is just too much work to be done
(3) You probably read something wrong, trainees are not allotted laptops and we cannot carry our own laptops either. However you can give your mocks from the net facility provided in the classrooms after office hours (for which you won't have time anyway)
(4) Yes you will get accomodation on the 20th from 8 am onwards

During training period u will hardly get time to prepare,as u wud have to prepare for ur modules(infy training)....
see the first week of infy would be orientation part...where u will be asked to submit all ur documents that u have been asked to bring....ur bank account would be opened .....u will get to knw abt the Organization and all...and hence would be fun because ur training has not started and u will get to explore the campus.....
Once ur training starts.....
u have to reach the office at sharp 9 am and before that u can go and have ur breakfast at any of the food courts.....then ur module will start...then depending on ur training faculty u will be given tea breaks and lunch break...at around 2:30 the session wud start again after lunch...by 5:30-6:00 u will wind up wid ur training...then u can go for gymming,swimming,table tenis or may be even ur room to relax.....then after that u can do whatever u want...study in the library(which u would obviously have to do) etc...or just roam about the campus...once ur technical training is over ur Business skills training or ILI sessions wud start...that wud be fun....and u can enjoy ur stay then....

Sonu has explained most of the things that we do here...
To add to the part about self-preparation, I did study for a week here for giving the MH-CET, but it was tough indeed, you can only manage to put in an hour or so of serious prep after an entire day of training

See, the training duration for your batch may change. i m from CS and am currently at mysore. my training is for 4 months and 20 days while for the non CS ppl that joined with us it is approx 15 25 days more depending on extra holidays etc. the training material is same for both CS and non CS except for a few extra foundation courses for the non CS ppl.

So how do people manage to attend gd/pi calls during training period.
Can we get leave for it or the only option is to resign from infy. ?????

You have to use up your paid leaves to go for GD-PI by giving a proper reason(and you can only have 3 of those in training)....in case you do manage to convert, then you can resign...of course you would have to pay a hefty amount to break the bond

Yes it is indeed possible to get it delayed if you have a valid reason for the same....drop in a mail to the HR department

yes, you can delay the joining....
u can contact HR for that
but as far asi know,we cannot decide when we want to join again,some times they gave it in a month and some times it takes more than 4-5 months also....

Post completion of your training, your monthly Total Gross Salary will be a maximum of Rs. 27,084 as applicable to you and has been detailed in the Compensation Details sheet (Annexure I). This salary will be effective from the 1st day of the month succeeding completion of training and allocation to the Unit.
During the period of your training, your monthly Total Gross Salary will be Rs. 22,500 as applicable to you has been detailed in the Compensation Details sheet (Annexure II).
The annexure has split up between: Basic, DA, etc..

Yea, you are allowed to take as many books as you want
I myself took a bag full of books during training I-Pod , to the best of my knowledge , is allowed to be taken inside. You need to make an entry in the register at gate and keep a slip with you countersigned by security personnel that you are keeping an electronic item namely ipod with you.
