No company will 'officially' like it if you are preparing for CAT.
It depends on your attitude and ability to win the confidence of your teammates. In my case, I had great suppot from all of them, including my SPM.
Forget about company sponsored MBA. That's just a bluff. I am working for 4 years in Infy now and have not seen a single person sponsored by company.
Infy would be better than HCL in brand value.

forget abt company sponsored MBA's
as they will be mostly MBA's in software engineering
and that come with lot of conditions like u have to be a consistent performer in organisation to get ityes,u do get to time to study(provided u manage enough )

i think if ur exams goes well, u can extend the joining date,so that it would be some where in march last week
by that time u will be knowing most of the results ,and u can take a call
if u want to leave during the training
,there are better ways to do it rather than paying the money
I have my joining on jan 10,2011...n my branch is electrical. i am interested in writing CAT 2010. I had a decent 92.8%le in cat 2009 n so i think this year i can certainly do better. I wanna know a few things:
1) Can the date of joining be extended if i ask for it so that i am done with all the mba entrance related activities before joining and then take the final decision on where to go?
2) If i join the company,do i have to pay the bond even in the training period if i happened to leave the company during training?
3) How much is the bond usually during the training,if at all it's there?
4)How's the workload during training n after the completion nof training? do guys there get sufficient time to study n prepare for higher studies?

,so don't worry abt it(3)it depends...i feel u need not worry at all,as no trainee ever pays any money ,if he leaves during training
(4)work load during training is bit hectic(general perception,might depends on person also)
and after completion of training ,it depends on the project u are in
(5)yes,we do get time to tudy,but then u have to use ur weekends judiciously

But no is considering the post of 1 guy tht he has been demanded 1.5 lac for breaking d bond..
I guess 1.5 lac will be all our savings of 1 yr and if we give it to get experience certificate then isnt it too much..
I know ppl will say tht leave it by absconding n all but 1 yr exp certi is absolutely needed if we hv worked for such long..
Plz seniors kindly let us know wht is d policy..
i heard ppl were asked 1 or 1.5 lacs to brk d bond and sm ppl were didnt asked anything..
n if its true then i will hv to again think of my options before joining infy as giving 1.5 lac means working fr 1 yr without a penny..
I m sorry if i hv been sounded harsh bt plz give focus to this, plz..
n for all thinking whether they will get time or not,
my thinking is tht u will get a single room wid AC, so u can easily wake late till night or anytime n get ur preparations done quiet easily if ur determind n focussed thruout till ur date of CAT exam..

dude ..definetely the company expects u to pay the bond amount..
afterall,they are paying u for 6 months for free,apart from giving training and if u leave immediately after training,that is definetely loss for the company
but during the training,leaving the company is much easy
but after training,when u are in probation(1 year after training)if u want to leave ,definetely its going to be tough and the amount u have to pay depends on the time u want to leave(after training),so we cannot provide u a exact figure
the cases u said abt not paying and leaving with work exp also happpened
it happened with my cabin mate,when he left for MS in june-2009 when his bond period s till nov-2009,and he did not pay any amount
its may be becoz of recession,so the nottom point is we cannot for sure ,say the bond amoun u are required to pay
