I am based out of Bangalore,stay in BTM 2nd Stage. I am planning to take GMAT in the 1st week of May.

Guys in BTM, we can form a self-study group. Anyone in?

Hi Ayan here, I am planning to take GMAT in March-Apr. I've 4 years of work-ex in TQM in a Power sector PSU. Staying near Chandra Layout. I want to join the Blore prep group. Willing to travel to any place in blore for group meets on weekends. Can contribute effectively in RC and CR discussions. Need some direction in SC. Thanks in advance for adding me in the group.

Thanks for your inputs. Just a little confusion here. According to my R & D, I have come up with this comprehensive list. Please let me know if this is an exhaustive one.

1) GMAT OG 12th Edition (I was not aware of OG Verbal and OG Quants)

2) The Princeton Review

3) Manhattan SC Guide

4) SC/CR 1000 or SC Grail (only available online)

5) RC99 by Aristotle Prep (only available online)

6) Powerscore CR Bible by David M Killoran


Now am a lil confused . Is it also necessary to purchase the OG Quants and Verbal as well, or just OG would suffice? Is it also necessary to go for The Princeton Review along with OG Quants and Verbal? Or either of OG Quants & Verbal / The Princeton Review would do?

Also, how about 3,4,5 and 6? Can someone please give a comprehensive list of books and also is there any particular sequence to be followed for best results?

Guyzz we have just started a study group-aimed to take the test around may-june ..... puys are welcomed to join the mail chain forum ;)....please pm ur id to me or cat_the_bell....u are more than welcomed to do so.... we have to ensure success and a good will for one and all :))

we could do that here as well...but the idea is to meet up at a later stage to enhance effective study strategy...

1000 series and RC99 are not trusted document.
For 1000 sc most of the question are bad and in most the OA given is wrong while other test some different aspect not tested on GMAT. Let me give you some example :

Wrong concept tested : refer 238 of 1000 SC -- answer is given E.
Well according to GMAT both A and E is fine( but E is better than A in conventional English but not in GMAT world) --as till date there is no problems where "it" can refer to a proceeding noun clause. Its well accepted in conventional English - but not in GMAT ( as there are none in OG)

Wrong OA -- problem no. 2 -- the correct answer is D but according to 1000 sc its A

Some problem in 1000 series where Scoretop has directly copied from LSAT and GMAC OG are good. But not all

RC 99 -- Most of the RC passage in RC 99 are copied from kaplan MCAT book while others are not at all GMAT type passages. Please refer this link :

What you think his reaction should be, is exactly what he should not do. You guys simply take one person's word against a reputed Institute and a respected PG member.

Read his previous posts people, he is helping everyone for free, I did not take any classes, nor have I met him, but he cleared all doubts of so many puys, including me.
I simply cannot believe what Mr lumhaa is saying.

I am not posting to judge Ashish's authenticity, I believe in what he claims, why, because I have read 100's of his posts and I am pretty convinced he is more than capable of teaching, again, this is my personal opinion. It is lumhaa2 (you should notice, there was a person with the id lumhaa1 sometime back) who started this, I have already asked him to prove his authenticity by coming and meeting me.
I am ready to come to Ashish's centre, Saturday or Sunday, any time of the day. What more does he want? I have pmed him my email and Mobile number already.

I would sincerely suggest you, instead of believing in what he says, if you are in Blore (I see from your status, you are based in Delhi) come along with us. Ashish will provide a demo class to you as well, and you can decide for yourself.

I am saying this with confidence because I have asked a number of people in Blore to go to any of the following 2 places for excellent GMAT classes, CrackVerbal (run by Arun aka Psychodementia) or to EducationAisle and none of them have come back to me unsatisfied.

So, that's the reason it is really hard for me to digest lumhaa2's comments.

Hi all

I am also a GMAT aspirant from bangalore...there has been a lot of discussion over the books to be referred...but if someone can provide a detailed list of the books under the following categories:-
A) Books to be purchased
B) Books available online (please also provide the source if available)

And the 2nd point is, what can be done during this year which will enhance one's profile and add value to the profile....say some courses or joining some organizations etc....
