Apologies for the delay in posting this - EducationAisle did send me a copy of his GMAT score-card and yes, it does have a 760 on it. I have deleted posts and banned people who think they can slander and then edit their posts.
We all accept that a standardized test score is no way the true judge of a man's capabilities. Heck a couple of my favorite teachers at boarding school openly admitted they weren't the best students themselves but as teachers, guiders and mentors I could not have asked for any better.
Ashish has been a great help on this forum, and his explanations are outstanding. Even if he had a 650, his quality of teaching was never in doubt. A little respect for the people who give their time freely on this forum is always nice.

I have been following the GMAT related forums on pagalguy since long time but joined only today.
I have some of the Materials and will manage the others needed.
Only thing which stops me from starting my preparation is this aura of laziness I have it in me.
I know I can do it and want to do it but for some reasons I have not started my preparation. I thought I'll join a coaching center(I'm working as Soft engg in Bangalore since 2 years{total exp}) it will put me in some schedule (and they'll help me in other processes required for GMAT ) but personally I'm better on my own.
I plan to gave my GMAT in around June 2012 so that I could take another(only if required) in next month as I want my application to be processed till Oct-Nov as this is the only year I have(as my personal target). Although this May 2012 concept(since the "pattern" will change) is putting me in some doubts. I don't know how much this pattern change will/should affect my preparation for June.
Your reply on self study again motivated me that it can be done on your own (If you stay determined and practice regularly).
Yesterday I completed the "GMAT Uncovered" but Manhattan and now have a fair idea of the process except for the new format which now i will check online.
My Intro:
Soft engg - total 2 years 3 months exp
Wants to do an MBA from a good college(dream is ivy leagues or Harvard but can't get in there with my stats I think) from abroad.
Stats are avg: X-79;Xii-65, BE-70.5

Totally agree with the assumptions and I realised the assumption point 2, when I had gone to meet Arun one day.
While I was waiting, I jumped into a discussion with 2 students on a SC question from OG10 and it was definitely a stimulating experience.
Assumption point 1 is also very valid because your experience and structured teaching module would obviously provide answers to a lot of questions.
Again, this is a very personal decision, and self study can very well backfire on anyone. I was probably lucky to have managed it without coaching classes :)
I hope that many confused souls get their answers after reading these posts, that's the whole point, isnt it?
And I have been recommending people to take demo classes before joining, so hopefully the confusion can get cleared when they get the "feel" of the classes !
