sorry for not being able to reply for past few days..end term exams and all so cudnt help it. Cming straightaway to the point, i wll adress the apprehensions regarding queries about finance@GIM. People looking for core finance might be a little bit dissapointed at GIM but we do have companies coming to campus aprt from HDFC. We have ICICI,INDIA BULLS, IFFCO TOKIO, DARASHAW, DCB, ING, CITIBANK,KOTAK,BATALIVALA AND KARANI etc. However, the profile of the jobs would be more of "Marketing of Financial Products" rather than Core Banking/ Financial Services. So if any of these is ur dream company, u will be happy altho u may be dissapointed with the profile they offer

so is the process over everywhere???

btw from my own experience and that of many other PGites 1000 ppl didnt attend the process...it has to be abt 200-300 less than that...

EDIT: hey guyz n gals...gim's website has clarified (hope so) a general doubt...a marquee is sayin that the results are coming in the last week of March...but hang on...does it mean 20/3 to 26/3 or 27/3 onwards????

Well what you mean by personality and looks.yaar its not Gladrags Model Hunt that they look for looks and all.Well personality can very well be one criteria i admit but not the only criteria.

i have mailed GIM officials....they said..2nd week of april is the date for final call

whenever it is...now we can only hope that they give a final call to all pgites...except that we can go to their website and check on updates...i did and found a marquee saying that the results will be out in the last week of march...

i am not sure about getting result in my favour in GIM after GD/PI which seems more a formality and hardly seriousness was there in admission process.ok, may u persons get through. keep smiling.

hi all...can any1 give us all n idea abt last yr no of waiting students gettin confirmed..this yr scmhrd as i saw confirmed 27 waitin students..n i've heard abt xlri last or last 2 last yr confirmd 52 waitin students..so gary or sum1 else can u give us some idea bout last yr how many got confirmed frm waitin..

If you get through GIM it is obvious a better choice.........However all depends in which area you want to specialize...GIM is good for marketing and systems.....Dont know about fore...but placements this year in fore has been outstanding...please tell me your XAT percentile and background.....

UBS ppl hav rejected me as i am not in 162 ppl called for the Counselling. So i m a frustated guy now. Can any body give me my chances at GIM at the XAT percentile of 96.21.
Even at 95.17 in cat and having a gr8 GD/PI i cann't make it for UBS. i don't know what they looking for?? perhaps i din't perform according to those moserators. Let's c what happens in GIM.
if GIM ppl gave the calls to 1000 ppl then for 90 seats for open category it looks a hard one for me even at 14 months work ex and engg background.
Can any one tellme that upto what is the number of waitlisted candidates in GIM???

i was in ur batch in GIM gd pi on 13th at YMCA..hope u remember u....
96%ile in XAT matters a lot..hop u will get thrugh GIM..

Today was GIM convocation. Got this info from the horses mouth. GIM Results would be out Late next week and the total no. of ppl who attended the GD pi are 1100.

GIM looks for variations in their Alumina thats my bet hence you would be first profiled as per your academic background. Then you would selected based on the best in your stream taking in consideration your XAT score, academics, Work Exp, GD, PI. Like the top 50 engg, Top 10 commerce, Top 5 BBA's etc.. based on a pre determined ratio. this is what I feel

In the graph of previous batches we saw 45% of 110 GIM students are engineers....which comes to roughly 50.SO you are pretty much on target i think....but there were lot of engineers in GIM GD/PI.....so its got to be difficult

Hi Guys,

Yes GIM does have a kind of predetermined ratip of academic backgrounds , but it does vary slightly every year depending on placements and some other external factors.

This year th whole strenght of 120 will not be admitted(due to constraints like hostel space).Knowing the number of hostel rooms available, the batch strengh looks to be around 105-110

Dear Pakistan.

This is the kind of ratio that you will see in all B-schools including most of the Top B-schools like IIM's.You may think it is unfair ..but the Ratio of engineers is similar even at application stage and GD/PI stage .I know that on the contrary , some enginners will say that 50-50 ratio is unfair given the high number of engineers applying.!!!

eagerly waiting for the results to be declared. have only gim and nmims. gim interview was okay. but my percentile is just 86. however have work ex of 15 months in infy.
keeping my fingers crossed.
