IRMA, MICA, GIM, BIM(yet to call), KJSom, XIME(didnt go), XISS(yet to come), applied for TISS... thats about it..

didnt apply for XIMB or SIBM... going by their cutoffs, you could have added two more to my list :)

some 12 people out of 16 arrived at my batch.. 32 a day, two days 64... five centres 320.. to be on the safer side about 400... 400 called, about 60% must have attended... such a low figure coz icfai results are out on day of pi, and most ppl shud hav got calls.. plus there were a few other final calls.. also many had questins about goa... and there always are those whoose dates clash... so about 240 people must have attended.. give or take a few 50s 😃 ;)

seriously, i think not more than 300 would have attended...

well i did the maths based on my center.. mumbai.. may be different for diff places.. so yes, if 1000 were called, about 600 to 700 would have attended.. and they are gonna take 120 max, and more likely 100 of these... 1:7? only if 1000 calls.. otherwise, 1:4...... 😃 God only knows... me off to sleep.. see you ppl today morning.

seems like they do have marks for everything... coz when i (accidentally) stumbled into the interview before i was called in, i saw him writing marks as well as a short comment for the previous candidate on a form or something....and whoever i asked in my batch kept telling me GIm is just a backup....

well, i suppose everyone gets to choose their own nicks...
about the pi, well, i think they were just testing how serious you are and what are your motivations...
by the way, how is the final list going to be drawn? they will assign weightages to xat score, gd score and pi score plus other factors like workex and acads.. then just add-up the scores, right? or are there supposed to be any subjective items? like if the interviewer feels for some reason, candidate A is not good enough for an mba and gives him low marks for pi or in the subjective section, will they still compute his marks and include those in the final list OR will they simply ignore the person totally?

then came the stress kinda interview..mr mirchandani..man that guy is smethg..amazing knwledge with real sharp questions..b prapred 4 acad related questions..

Hi guys,

Had my gd/pi in bangalore on 10th morning. 14 guys attended. The topic was stupid "which is the best opening pair for india against pakistan in the current series?". The ints were cool. Profs gopal & mz. d'souza. Everyone came out of the int very pleased.

it seems i am in danger of being misunderstood... GIM is a very good institute.. as good as (slightly here and there) SIBM... however, MICA and IRMA are specialised insts which are accepted as the very best in their fields... so my first pref wud be to these insts... thats why i called gim as backup..
please dont misunderstand me...
its okay if they have marks for everything, but if they are going to judge you on subjective things, the interviewers' one comment can break your prospects.... ideally they should mark you on various parameters and then add up the score for the final merit list.... but the question is, is there a cutoff for these parameters.. as in, if the parameters in the pi are for example, command over language, clarity of thought, communication, acads, extra curricular, how does the candidate react to a certain tricky situation, motivation... etc etc, then the interviewer shud give you marks for each parameter and then add to get the final pi score.. my question is, if a person gets zilch in one para, will they still go ahead and compile the marks.. that person could be great in other parameters and therefore have a chance to still coverup for the disaster in one parameter... OR will they just chuck the person from the process...

U have such a good XAT percentile and GIM is in ur pocket...so why t aking so much of tension???????
NO they count cumulative score.so its not in interviewer hands to reject a candidate totally.....
So leave tension and book a flight for GOa

The prob with the gim interviews was every one things they have done pretty well in the interview! the gd topics were pretty simple! hence the whole junta believes they have a chance!

it is very diff to judge ur personal chances based on ur gd pi !

the duration of the interview cannot be the clinching factor! if the interviewer has made up his mind early about u then the interview can be even less!

Well yes you are right but what if interviewer says in beginning that for all interview will last 5 min.and in 5 min even you just not able to tell what u have in it you..........what if in 5 min other interviewer just feels that taking an interview is last thing in world he wants...what to do then??????????

not taking tension, just making sure... xat scores do have a lot of weightage.. acads have to play a role somewhere... and about interview time, we had two people coming out in less than five minutes.. maybe the interviewer was plain tired... wanted to go for lunch... 😃
