I too got the final call from Fore. As U would have noticed by now thro' the posts of several PGites, Fore is not providing value for the huge money we spend. Again, you pay 55000 bucks and it is gone! I feel paying for Fore is High Risk!!! I decided not to take. I have been waitlisted in IMI and Tapmi. Already attended UBS, Nirma, Xime and IFMR. GIM today, NMIMS on 12th and KJS on 13th. My feeling is that GIM is a good institute and it is worth joining, though the placement salaries are slightly lower. KJS is equal to or slightly less than Fore, but at least costwise it is much less. If U are really interested in Ad/ Mkg, MICA is a great option. If U can manage to convert NMIMS, that will be the first choice for you! My personal opinion - dump Fore. Not that I want somebody to join me in dumping Fore, but based on facts and opinions. Whatever decision U take, all the best to you mate.

thx 4 been the torch bearer of all of us...man i need a favour frm u..see i got thru FORE..with the clock ticking as signing amnt is 55k by 18th mar which in non refundable.
now the problem is i have calls frm GIM/KJS/MICA N NMIMS..KEEPING AWAY PSSBLE BIM N LIBA.
Now frm ur point of view wat shud i do..gimme an honest answer...will u rate GIM better than all barring Narsee ( marketing/finance - my area).Again in narsee my rank is abt 1600 tho hve work ex of abt 4 yrs .wat 2 do?

thx 4 replyin..however u hve a cushion of been waitlisted in tapmin imi..i hve none..honestly i agrre with ur fore viewsn anyday i wudnt like 2 go there gvn a choice...n lookin at it realistically consideringmy low rank at NMIMS N less seats in MICA...i hve 2 choose amng fore/kjs/gim n i hve still 2 attend the gd/pi of kjs/gim.
so u see i m hvin sleepless nights...coz its will b far fatched gvin cat a try nxt yr coz i hve close 2 4 yr of work ex...n waitin 1 yr ll b uffff 2 me
so u see where i stand..im just concernes how gim is placed against fore overall

I fully understand ur concern. In fact I am also finding it difficult to dump an option which is in hand. But, One - the total cost of Rs 5 - 5.5 Lakhs is quite huge. Two - you will loose 55000 bucks straightaway if you want to insure a place. This is also a big loss. Three - Even assuming that we can manage 5-5.5 Lakhs, it is okay if it is for an institute like IMI which provides more quality.
In terms of placments Fore is definitely ahead of GIM and KJS. Based on the info I have the Avg Salary is about Rs 4.5 LPA in Fore, while it is about Rs 3.5- Rs 3.75 in KJS and GIM. Honestly I feel if you can convert GIM, that is the best option. Good education. Reasonable cost and above avreage placements. Even between Fore and KJS I would rather prefer KJS thanks to its moderate cost and location in MUmbai. Unfortuntely your results in KJS and GIM will not be out before March 18, which is the last date for payment of fees in Fore. I don;t see any easy solution. Sorry for cofusing you further. If you want to insure something, only way is to pay 55000 bucks! My advice to you would be, take a risk and dump it. Not worth it pal.

Went today for Gd/pi
got a fast train so reached on time. 8.30 am
Only 12 sleepy guys turned up
not even a single female to charge our sleepy batteries
First we had a Gd ,group of six so everyone spoke
Topic was : Is coalition politics the continuing phenomeon ...or something
went blah blah ,frankly lost interest midway .....
Anyways all had to make opening statement as well as concluding statements
At the end we were told to write our summary on a sheet of paper .
Two interviews:
First was more of HR , why mba why not timepass management course
Why Engg marks so low
(so low that they cant be typed here )second interview was more technical
I was asked about Design Information Systems? :whatthat:
I somehow diverted his attention to Football champions league coming up
Was asked lots about background and stuff ,
i did quite well i think overall ....

Hello friends had my GIM interview today @8.45 am at Xaviers VT.
I reached there at 8.45 sharp ant the process was just about to begin actually the reporting time was 15 min before 8.45 i.e 8.30
There were 12 people all guys they split the batch into 2 of 6 people each.. I was in the 1st batch we had a GD for about 10 mins and the topic was IS COILATION POLITICS HERE TO STAY. Every body was given a chance to make an opening statement for 30 sec to 1 min then the Gd was thrown open and at the end all the people were given a chance to give a conclusion again 30 sec to a minute
After this the second group was called in their topic was WHAT AILS INDIAN SPORTS.. I guess they had a similar process like ours..
This was followed by 2 round of interviews
1st was a very HR kind interview with every one being asked the 3 questions background , why MBA and Career plans some other questions based on your answers were also asked
2nd interview was more a technical one with questions figuring mainly from whatever you have studied in your graduationlevel
both the interviews lasted for close to 8 mins.. extremely warm and friendly faculty so no stress at all

I ahd my GD/ PI this afternoon, 1.45 batch. GD Topic was 'Enterpreneurship is the way for 21st Century'. GD went in a fairly orderly way. I took a cotrarian view and felt that I contributed well.
PI was 2 tiered. The first one was on personal and acads which I answered quite confidently. Usual questions as to why MBA, why GIM and so on. Some technical questions on my domain Chemical Engineering. Simple and straigh forward questions and answers.
The second interview too was cool, but the panel members were trying to find out whether we are serious in our aspirations to join GIM. I was asked what other calls I have. I was honest and informed that I am being waitlisted in IMI and Tapmi, got selected in Fore bur decided not to accept the offier. They were asking when I will get to know the final results. I told them Tapmi will be releasing the second list by 24th March. They were then telling that I would have selected an institution before GIM final results are out. I told them I was only waitlisted and was not sure that I will get my final call. Thats all. I am confident that I will get the final call with my XAT score of 90.43, good acads and according to my perception a cool GD/ PI. But choosing a final admission from among the available options is going to be the toughest job. We can however be happy that we can manage to enter into one of the 15-25 ranked institutes. After that it is upto us how we are going to make best use of our opoortunity.

the peshwa and arun have given their exps... me too had the same.. except that for me, both rounds of pi had the same questions... nothing too varied from the rest.. kinda laid back.. the pi focussed on "why mba" ... atb to all

yup, u can introduce.. they ask for it... didnt ask me to show any proof/certs... no extracurri in the form... hope helps...
