hi guys...
i facing a dilema here....maybe u guys cud give me ur inputs...
i jus got thru mica...and now i have to decide between mica and gim.
i know i definetly want to do mktg...but mica is a very specialised program.
can u guys give me some inputs that might help me decide?

If you are sure you want to do Marketing, take GIM.
If you have even a little inclination towards Media and Advertising and can settle for a li'l less paying job initially go to MICA.

i got thru gim....yahopoooo with 97.5 percentile ......its good to be thru....but m,y main ques is...

i got thru imi as well...so if anybody can please help me taking the decision..........that wud be wonderful....

even my plight is same as urs. the xat %tile, school percentage n the GD/PI was as good as u suggested. just there was a problemwit my BE % whicjh is in highr 2nd class. but i had the advantage of being Goan. but anyhow, the result is same as urs.
dint make it to GIM......
GIm is rocking as they had a 100% placement on Day1 with avg sal. at 3.5 lacs. they want their momentum goin. i believe they hav selected mainly work exp fellows (just 5 goans .... all with work exp -------as against 17 last year most of whom were freshers)
just hoping for BIM. when the calls will be out?

88% xat, decent gd, one excelllent other ok pi, BE IT frm reputed college 68%, school time 90% holder still not got gim what they actually want ........

Now one last question I got letter today that I am placed in 2nd merit list and have to submit Rs-25,000 till 15th april, please let me know what are my chances of getting through, they didnt mention any rank through which I can judge my chances, could you please clarify this doubt of mine.Last time seats were left in gim,so can I hope same this time.Waiting eagerly for your reply.

i think I and shashi have already stated enough on what kind of Finance companies come on campus and what profiles thery offer.Sorry , but i Can't compare placements at KJSom and GIM with respect to finance, cos i don't have any idea about placements at KJSom .It would be better if you ask some alumni of KJ on the forum.

last time some seats were left in GIM and even this time 10-15 seats will be left in GIM. This is because the Hostel facilities in GIM are not enough for 120 students .Now the problem is , I or any other student has no clue about what merit no u are in waiting list.The only people you can contact is admission office.Also I,Shashi and Naveen have already left the campus for our Summer Training .Even last year w had the same problem ,but a phone to admissions amy just clarify things if you are lucky.

Now lets welcome ROBERT & KAPIL LAHOTI to our gang...plz go thru the previous posts to get a hang of it..And guys hope no 1 leavin GIM for any equivalent or may b lower college (read KJS/FORE/LIBA/ICFAI H'BAD/IMI/LBSIM/NIRMA ..possible tapmi n mica)
I hve researched plenty abt all of these colleges n personally telllin u GIM a notch ahead n if u look at return on investmEnt ..gim seems the best bet-IMI N MICA IS 5-5.5 L INCLUDING EVERYTHG ..MICA MAY B MORE...TAPMI 4.5 L - 5 L..FORE -5 TO 5.5 L, ETC)
So make an informed decision n lets dunno go as per the hearsay or gut feelin..so CHEERS Guys n gals as well

Guys, got 98.94 in XAT. Have got calls from XLRI,XIMB,GIM. Have passed out from REC trichy and got close to 2.5 year work ex .

Now I have a problem my salary is already close to 5.5 lac. Looking at the avearge salary in GIM it is close to 4 lac only. Another question is if u have 2 rate GIM and BIM which wud b better. I frankly have seen BIM and sorrry but dont have very high opinion of the college. I would put the question in other way Would it b worth joining GIM. I definetly want to move into management but Would it b a right decision.
