hey guys very sorry 4 those who r not selected..but chill..i'm one among u too..no point in complainin..best is to accept that v went wrong sumwhere..im my technical pi..I'm am an instrumentation & control engg n the professor who was takin my interview knew nothin bout I & c engg..
He saw 1 subject called Modern digital control system and asks me what is digital:bad-word: ..(wat a stupid question)...................................
so i was prepard but i guess the interviewer wasnt..anyways how does it matter..i guess it happened 4 good coz next year I'm going to IIMA ..n thats final..so long guys..dont loose hope..remember one thing "GODS DELAYS ARE NOT GODS DENIALS" so its not bout whether v r knocked down but whether v get up..n believe I'm up n ready to rumble..:2gunfire:

i think I and shashi have already stated enough on what kind of Finance companies come on campus and what profiles thery offer.Sorry , but i Can't compare placements at KJSom and GIM with respect to finance, cos i don't have any idea about placements at KJSom .It would be better if you ask some alumni of KJ on the forum.

Well at 96.21perentile and having a decent GD/PI, 78% in Engg, having a 1.4 yr exp what else they are asking for???? Whether GIM is asking much like IIM's.
Now last hope is NIRMA, perhaps i will be in with 30th waiitng list so just give me BOL. otherwise my year will be ruined and IIM ke bando ko mujhe next yr sahna padega.

My XAT score was 90.43 and had good PI and GD. Did not get selected. Though I would not have joined even if selected (waitlisted in Tapmi and IMI (55) and WL 10 in Nirma), it felt hurt if one gets rejected after decent performances in GD/PI. But after seeing you people with XAT scores of 96, 97 and all being rejected I have a suspicion that they had an unofficial higher cutoff perhaps???? All the best to those who got converted and also those who could not, as something will be in store for them too. The Panels have their own ways of evaluating and assessing!

i can understand ur feelings. but you never knwo what criteria the institute looks at when it selects anyone.
thats the way the whole system barring a very few institutes. most of us can find any rationale even in the way IIMS,XL,FMS selects students.
Cant blame it on any one institute.

I completely agree with u Kathik ....even i had a XAT score of 96.31 %ile ....had an excellent GD-PI.....good acads..but still got rejected.....can't understand why....they must be having an upper cut-off!

feel sorry for u ppl who with good percentiles couldn't make it... n e way good luck with ur other calls and for the future...
i made it thru with 93 %ile...so rest assured it wasn't the factor...also karthik - u were lucky company for me dude... converted both LIBA and GIM... unfortunately, it seems it turned the other way for u... but i am sure when most of us here would be deciding on our electives in the second year, you would be readyin to take up a job after IFMR - thats where u r goin right?

if one got selected-
one is happy that going to join an institute after which surity of high pay job will be there. but wait
one got rejected-
one happy that i m going to join an industry where i can become illigible to get admission in so called reputed institute.

Our education system had made us deaf n dumb that we know the truth but cant speak.
say little and get bigger effect. see the two faces of coin. one million dollar question- iim's r better institutes which make professional or professionals join iim's to make them better.

i got an email from LIBA that said that I was selected and I should pay up 35k before 15th...thats how i came to know abt LIBA...
n e way, I ain't joinin LIBA...trading it for GIM...hope my decision's right...n e insight from u ppl. on this???

first of all congrats for getting thru GIM. Let me state the facts right. Your joining in the inst depends on a lot of factors. Since u have worked in the productions department, i am assuming that you are interested in specializing in operations. If thats the case, Operations in GIM is no great shakes. GIM is great for systems and Marketing. HR and Finance are also okay, but definitely not opearations. After u graduate u will definitely get better salary than what u get now.In fact the lowest salary this year was somewhere arnd 3 lacs and people with 7 years of work ex can safely get arnd 5-6 lacs(also it seems u have relevant work ex for that ). All this provided u specialize in marketing / systems. U can get equally good jobs in HR and Finance but the number of possibilities are less.There are virually no companies exclusively for OPS.
