hi ******* even i wanted to talk you on this,well m lucky to take a decision in the begning itself n saved my money(fees) at ***** but in ur case i'll just like to add that overall i don't believe in rankings of institutes as such but only in some meticuluos classification...........so that way GIM can be putten up in the category three institutes i.e. non iim institutes but than too not like of MDI,XIMB.......etc. secondaly its among the few institute offering you a compulsary residential program........so has an edge. Finally faculty of GIM is superv..........actually can give a run to all the institutes of its category. .................and bla bla bla.............in fav. of ****** is only its placements.......good but still not specific like of GIM:) .................
hence.go ahead n take a call.........by the way a hint from my side...in terms of net expenses for the coming 2 years u still wud be saving a lot in GIM as everything here is intregal n that too subsidised......(whereas others usally have those camouflaged hidden costs ). One of our gim batch mates has recd the call letter , dont have all the details abt it ,as to whether it has a loan proposal or details abt expenses or minimum specs of laptop in that.
Seniors would like to know the review of the IBM'S that u have , did the whole group go for the same model ... and also which model is it ...
hey guys...need some help. converted both gim n imi...cant decide which one 2 take...the only hitch is that i'm based in delhi n am lil wary abt goa's regional placements...but i want some opinions on this choice...pls do reply...brw anyone else in a similar dilemma?

i think euphoria is one person (he was pretty regular on this thread but not anymore) who cud give u some insights because he is in same situation. but he's joining imi so expect his comments to be pro - imi . btw i too am of the same opinion as everyone else, there's no such thing as "regional placements" at gim and i know this because i met 4 ppl from the senior batch who are about to pass out and they were placed at places like delhi, mumbai,etc

thanks buddy. u waiting for any other results or is it gim full-n-final ?? ritesh aaj-kal underground ho gaya hai, imi me secret service kholne waala hai . i think he's bit busy with loans n stuff, imi after all is pretty costly compared to gim. me waiting for the official letter from gim, frame karke rakhne ka plan hai . btw i put in my papers today, aaj se officially navra ho gaya hu ( unoffically kaafi time se navra tha , going here n there for interviews )

We had got IBM R52 fro 45K. The market price was somewhere arnd 65K. It has turned out to be an excellent machine. The config is just perfect for our LAN infra. The performance has been superior, beyond expectations.
Yes, all the students who had bought the machine through the insti got the same model, same config.
I can personally say that the machine is worth every penny spent since I have used(Manhandled) it quite extensively. Personally, I would suggest you to take a lappie through the insti, unless u want to make changes in the config negotiated by the insti, which would entail you to buy your own machine. Refer to the post on buying a laptop on pg. It is quite good.
This year, the config is again expected to be quite good.
Senior Sirs... aree ab control nahin hota.. Sirji kuch bataiye to how is goa in Winters,summers and Rainy seasons..what is ur normal day in these seasons... (I know this is stupid..sir but ab to sote jagte GIM hi dikhai deta hai..) How is the GOA carnival,new year and the International Film Festival..u ppl must hav been part of all these.. Plz sirs..Paint this picture for your Juniors.. Thnx..

@rahul, goa is a coastal place.....hence it wud have a typical coastal climatic condi.... winters....not too cold... summers (it doesnt matter much as we presumably wont be in goa )....but wud anyways be terribly humid.... rainy season.....well, again owing to climatic condi....keeps on raining in rainy season !!

i remember someone talking about the soccer world cup knock-out stages in june-july...i guess i am heading to the right place...... Engand anyone....... well i also have a final call from LBS delhi so i would like to have some suggestions from people before taking a final decision.....
1. Regarding the net- is it wirless or are there ethernet jacks in each room and in the library/classrooms? 2. When do you make a request for a single room or a double room? 3. What is the semester schedule like(month wise vacations etc) 4. I currently have an IBM R51 so was wondering if that would be okay? 5. Any of the current batch mates get any time to play football for any local team in Goa? 6. What is the general breakup of students for the new batch regarding their location.
