The nearest (read the only airport) for GIM is Dabolim International Airport also known as Goa Airport, the Air Traffic code is GOI. Its 34 kms from GIM. The only way as i see to reach there from Himachal is by taking an erstwhile Air Sahara or Spice Jet which flies 7 dys a week to Goa from Delhi. Then u also have the option of taking Kingfisher which hopes thru Mumbai. Otherwise Jet offers a through flight via Mumbai and has 5 flights a day between BOM and GOI.
I guess tat shud be enuff for u to plan the journey. Bon Voyage..

I have send my DD today for 30,000/- . I also spoke to Rajani at the Andhra Bank in Panaji. She was very helpful and she clarified all my doubts. As I am working in Bangalore and my mother is working in Kolkata so she informed me to pick up a education loan form from any andhra bank in Bangalore. Then I have to go to Goa with all the required documents and the loan will be processed in 10 days even without my mother being with me. What the bank will do is send a letter to kolkata for my mother to sign and submit at amy andhra bank in kolkata.

got a query 4 seniors n all of them who have availed an education loan...i wonder if i got a very rosy picture regarding the procedure 4 availin the loan. did u guys have any aquaitances wen u approached the bank 4 the loan or was it soleley on GIM's name...n did u guys pledge a collataral 4 the loan...n plz lemme know bout the intereset rates cuz here they r chargin 10.75% against 8.5% as i have read in sum previous posts..will it make more sense to approach the bank in panjim 4 availing the loan...n in that case will there b any drop in the interest rates n collateral..if so can any1 plz gimme the contact number n the name of the person to be contacted there.....

most of us didnt have an acquaintance in any of the banks and most of us have availed of the loan from Panjim. Shailesh aka aspire (2008 batch) was here this afternoon and he was also told by Andhra Bank here in Panjim that the loan won't be a problem once he gets all the docs properly.
None of my batchmates have pledged a collateral and have availed of the loan at either 8.5% or 9.5% (SBI).

Hi to answer the loan query....look dude....i know half a dozen ppl who availed loan from andhra bank...none of dem incl. me had ne1(read parents / guardian) going with us....however one requisite for the ease of getting the loan is the presence of an andhra bank near ur hometown as ur dad will have to go der for some verification.....no collateral except ur dad's/guarantor's signature along with his income proof.....just come with all those 10th, 12th etc certf plus lotsa fotos.....thats it....
One more frank advice: In case some of u r planning to come down with ur parents, u can also plan ur stay at Joie D Goa(gives GIM discount!!!)...its little farther from our inst. than hotel seema but is a much better place in terms of acco....rent is

Just to add on....there is a rebate of 0.5% for girls and there is also a separat rebate of 0.5% if you start paying the interest amount as you study. This is with reference to andhra bank where the rate is around 8.75%.

P.s GIM discounts can be availed at many places in and around panjim....just ask for it before the bill is presented to you

When we receieved our admits last year, we always had the GIM 2007 thread on the main page of pagalguy. We kept posting that frquently.
This isn't the case with the new admits. Come on people, presence on pagalguy should be paramount. Keep posting.

It was awesome ... would be a huge understatement... I dont have words to describe the meet .....
will come to that later...
As always punctuality ka keeda dint even leave me here .. reaached there a gud 15 minutes early .. talkerd to the manager ,.. there toldhim we would require space for around 8 ppl....
Was sipping my ice tea.... then chaitnya .. PGP1.. barged in 
we weretalking .. and then Girish khara came in... It was great to se the lemon coloured GIM t shirt ... Then richa came in .. minutes later aman singh pgp 1 joined us ... then felt that we were running out of space ... just then shruti came in.. we shifted to the new table then ... anubha joined us....
we m,ade ourselves comfortable .. and within minutes we were talking as if some long lost friends are meeting after sometime .... guess we were the noisiest at pizza hut on that day :biggrin:
Then came khushboo ashish then arpit .. then came nikhil then anant and vidhu .... we ppl got to know abt GIM from the qwertyuiop t shirt that ashish was wearing .... it was like gim in a nutshell
shruti explained what all those button were .....
then at the last came ahmer abdullah ... dint get to talk to him much though ...
The meet lasted for nearly three hours .... and I just dint want it to end .... It was just great to listen to the ppl who would be joining the corporate world and do GIM proud ..
after the PGP2 left..... we 5 pgp1 were remaining ...
and guess what kisi ka ghar jane ka man nahin tha . apart from vidhu . as she had to go quite a distance....
so we 4 guys , me aman , chaitanya and anant thought of going to india gate ..went in anant's car and were treated to some great music ..a nd guess what .. composed by the man himself...
The mood that we had was just euphoric ... we all had this feeling of having acieved something great ..... sat on the lawns of india gate for quite sometime .. talked abt life at gim .. what it would be like ...and dreamt .. shared each others dreams ... and bonding took place there itself...
But as all good things have to come to an end .. so this was also to be ....
I dreamt aboutgim the whole night ... for quite a few days I was smiling by myself ... felt as If I was in love again.... and I guess this is the biggest compliment Gim can get 
atleast from me for the time being...
and right now I am sitrting in a cafe in vasco .... and maybe tonite 2 morrow I mite say to someone .. "last nite I dreamt that I was at gim again: a la rebecca ishtyle ....
will write abt my gim visit .. I think tommorrow in the evning ... as tommorrow will be really hectic ..... I met prashant patel , prashant oza ..a nd ankur (the viper)....
met Jennifer madam , went to the computer lab .... scrapped on orkut ..but couldnt post on pg .... then went tothe library ....
and gys the news is .. that by the time our session starts the classrooms as well as the library will be ac ..
yaar yeh cafe wala mere sar pe khada hain .. he has to shut shop at 9 .....
