i am not in campus at present, so can't tell u. As far as my knowledge goes, last time the waitlist did not go beyond the second list. It depends on your waitlist number in the second list. If it is less than 15, u have a good chance of getting thru i guess.

just came back from goa! nice trip i shud say!
the infra is so-so, but the students are doing their bit to improve the things around there!
met up with tanvir singh, hard working dude! he said how placements weere improving and y GIM will rock when v pass out! infact even now they have had amazing job profiles! from strategy for nicholas piramal to fund manager at HDFC! have to say i'm impressed!
they are now concentrating on infra and alumni(the college in itself doesn't believe in promoting the place like a commercial organisation), and u can already see the results!
the faculty is outstanding there!
about the laptop and hostel, they told me that they will send another letter adressing these issues in may after the admission process is over. the staff there was VERY friendly!
about the 2nd list, u will get ur exact WL status on the 19th of this month! this includes ur rank after the 1st list has cleared up! but she did state that a lot of people are turning up and the WL WON'T go too deep!

well they say B-schools don't allow students to sleep much...so better hold on to whatever precious sleep you can for the time being....
btw, can we leverage our PG-GIM group of 30 by demanding certain specs for the laptop?... i mean let us all come to a range of specs that everyone here is fine with and then let us all individually email our queries to them...

im actually gettin my laptop from america...my bros studyin thr and he's comin down this summer...i decided to get it from america coz its workin out much cheaper.....i think im gettin a toshiba...centrino processor...80gb ram...workin out to about 55k.
if any of u have the option of gettin it from thr u shud consider it.....lotsa good deals around...

please be suggested that no processor is designed in the world to have a RAM of 80 GB .....america have to research for 30 more years to make a processor which can support 80GB of RAM as it will require 32*80 bits processor.....ahmmmm

I am Aniket Sengupta from Calcutta (Kolkata these days). I have converted the GIM call. I did my schooling from South Point High School, B.Com from Goenka College (2002) in Calcutta. After graduation I briefly poked my head (no pun intended) into CA, without much success. Anyway, we got a family business of marketing consultants. Been handling the same for the last two years.
My XAT %ile was 94.55.

Goa is has been very hot last few weeks hope it rains a bit early here. About the Laptop all you guyz who plan to get non IBM brands plz try and identify service centers in Goa or around for after sales service becoz as far as I know we only have IBM service center here and incase ur laptops do develop some probs u could have trouble servicin them here. Just a word of caution.
About the laptop specs I went to the IBM india website and this is what I got about the R51 Model. Shashi plz clarify and let us know if urs was a different specs. (We should get the laptop if ordered thru GIM for say 55k-60 k. Thats my bet)
