GIM 2005 - 2007
Please pay Rs-30,000/- (Rupees thirty thousand only) which represents part payment of the first term fees, on or before 15th April, 2005. If we do not receive this amount by 15th April, 2005, we will assume that you are not accepting our offer of admission, and it will stand cancelled.
The remaining part of the first term fees, Rs.21,600/-(Rupees twenty one thousand six hundred only) which includes the hostel feea and the caution deposit*, is payable on or before 5th May, 2005. If you do not pay the balance first term fees by 5th May, 2005, it will mean that you have decided not to join the Institute, and the amount of Rs.30,000/- (Rupees thirty thousand only) paid by you will stand forfeited. Fee paid are not refundable.
All payments should be made by demand draft in favour of Goa Institute of Management,payable at Panaji or in cash. Cheques will not be accepted.
Attached is a form for Medical Report. Please have it filled by your doctor and have him mail it to us. Please give him an envelope addressed to the Admissions Office with postage stamp ofRs.5/- affixed on it. The medical report should reach us by 15th May 2005.
The academic session will commence on 27th June 2005, with registration at 9 a.m. You are required to produce the following documents in original:
1. Birth Certificate or School Leaving Certificate for confirmation of your date of birth
2. Your Graduation Certificate and mark list. If your Graduation Certificate is not available on the day of registration, you will have to submit It to the Office not later than 30th September 2005
3. If you are completing your graduation this year, a certificate from the
Director/Principal of your Institute/College, stating that you have completed all the requirements for the degree, including the final examinations
4. Your mark lists of the Higher Secondary and Secondary School examinations
5. Transfer/Migration certificate from your College/University
6. Work Experience certificate(s), if any
7. Four stamp-size photographs for the identity card and library cards.
This offer for admission is subject to your satisfying all the requirements mentioned above. Your admission is valid if:
1. You indicate your acceptance by paying the sum ofRs.30,000/- by 15111 April, 2005; and

The hostel rooms are networked to enable you to access the internet facility and the databases of the Institute, from you hostel room, 24 hours a day. The same facilities are available in the classrooms.
In order to make use of the planned facilities, you would need to have a laptop. For the purchase of the laptop, a loan can be arranged from the bank, repayable after you begin to earn. Course assignments and material will be made available online. Should you want us to arrange for purchase of a laptop for you, please let us know. We will inform you about the cost when we arrange with the dealers.
The hostel will open to receive you from 25th June, 2005.

Laptop is surely a must now to aid learning at GIM. The question is whether I buy it outside or buy it through GIM through which a bulk order would be processed as many students would avail it thru GIM. No doubt will get @ cheaper rate thru GIM but what are the specifications. Could Gary or shashi help us on this. Could someone from Bangalore or HYD help us on the laptop rates there. Now with the cut in duties announced in the budget laptops will surely get cheaper this year. Could someone put up a good config for a Laptop.

honestly,before u mentioned it here i had never heard of SDM..i then checked up their website and they say that their average placement sal is 2.6L..i guess ur decision is made right there..GIM also seems to hv better infra and faculty...welcome to the gang,sanjana!

I will get a laptop and the best one on offer. They have three models to offer to students last year. 61k, 62k and 65k.

I can't wait for the letter with "legal validity" to arrive. That will be the last nail in the coffin. So happy that this 10months long ardous journey has come to an end. A beautiful end.

this is my first post on p.g.
i have got a final call from gim,somaiya and imi
and still waiting for nmims result
wanted to know if someone also has a similar choice and what is he planning to take up and why?
Acc to me all three are very close in terms of their rankings.
my opinion on these is as follows
-GIM has the best faculty of the lot
-placements are reportedly best in IMI near about
4.8l gim next with arnd 4l and somaiya last with 3.6l
-somaiya has probaly the best location with IMI 2nd
-intensity of the course is most in gim
other two are much relaxed in comparison
-summer placements are not that easy to get in imi
these are some ofthe parameters i know about.
please comment on these and any other that you might be knowing so that i can make a suitable choice.

U all seem pretty bouyant abt coming to Goa, looks like Goa is all ready to welcome such a enthusiactic crowd.
So any of you guyz recieved the letter. I was thinking of going this week and paying off the fees and for addmissions + the hostel. Also planning to buy the laptop through GIM jus wondering if the specifications would be sufficient enough @ good price.
