This is Shriram Karthik from Bangalore.
All these days i was lazy
to register myself on the website but after reading so many posting i thought even i should post a message.
I am a B.Com graduate(2003) with one year of work ex at Hewlett Packard.
Took break for preparation for CAT/XAT/(what not) since i wanted to get into a MBA course badly!!!!
At last got a final call from GIM.Was reluctant 
to join first but after speaking some of the pass outs from top B schools like GIM,TAPMI,MDI decided to go ahead.
and
Bangaloreans why don't we meet up some time?????(i am sure we would there would be around 4-5 from Bangalore).

but for now, can someone tell me if he/she received an acknowledgement from the institute abt receiving the 30K DD? I haven't got one. I can say that they have received it coz the DTDC website says so....but an official acknowledgement would have cooled my nerves better. :huh:
and whats up with all the phone lines at GIM? i tried three nos...0832-2444819, 2444820 and 2444638... but no one picks up the phone...does anyone have anyother no.??? shashi, gary, navin - any of u know any other no????

I am also in 2nd list....have you sent 25,000 to gim.....it was to reach by 15th....i am diwakar B.tech (C.S) ---2004 passout.........basically from nainital....what abt you? do inform me if you recieve any info in this regard hope we make into gim.........any idea about the position in 2nd list??????

that would be great!ya me too a lil bit worried bout their acknowlwdgement....hav even sent them a mail 3 days back but havnt got any reply as yet....an cant get thru on the fone either. If anyone has received some kinda acknowledgement....kindly acknowledge it to us
i called GIM a coupla days ago to find out if my DD reached, the lady in the office told me that we will get our acknowledgement/receipt by the end of the month.

ok, continuing in the inquisitive vein - fabulist, spiderman or vikram can you tell me if there's an ICICI ATM nearby??? I mean, do I need to have an account with corp bank(thats the one on campus - i heard)...or is an ICICI ATM conveniently placed somewhere in or near Ribander...?

ICICI has 4 ATM's but all in panjim 15 mins frm Ribander by bus. So I suggest u open an AC with Corporation Bank. Its really a gud bank atleast it doesnt levy unneccessary charges like ICICI and U jus need to maintain 1000 average quaterly balance.
Donno if there are an other bank branches in the vicinity, but openin a corp bank a/c makes sense

i wanted to pay the fees at GIM today. I talked to one of my acquaintances there and asked her to go to GIM and deposit 30k but according to u no one would be there. i was trying to call them up too since yesterday.
what should i do?
would they accept the fees tomm and on monday?

Hi Guys,
For those who are thinking about Bank & ATM Card facilities, the only bank in Ribandar in Corporation Bank (hereafter referred to as CB). As of now, there aren't any ATM counters in Ribandar. However, I had a chat with the CB manager before I left for my summers, and he says that they will almost surely get an ATM machine in July. He advised me to open a student account in my name at any CB branch closest to my home, and enroll for an ATM card under that account. This will help those who will get living expenses from home, as parents, etc can deposit the cash in that account, and we can withdraw it here, no transaction cost (I believe that no charges are levied on the card for the first year and a nominal charge of Rs. 90 per annum thereafter - but this info be better confirmed). Also guys currently in Goa better enquire about the ATM counter at this branch & post whatever details they get on this forum.
