so help wat to do??
Ok..so you are feeling down and depressed right now coupled with a lot of confusion. Not a decent job offer, not such great acads and stuck in a B-school(D school) which is actually not in the top 20(pagalguy rank-42).
Well my friend don't you think that after getting admitted to a B-school and thinking about all these problems would make you further depressed:-(:-(.I'm not telling you to continue with MIB course and not prepare for coming tests CAT,XAT,IIFT et al.What I only want is that you shouldn't be in two minds.
I don't think that its impossible for any guy to adjust with the hectic life of a B-school and simultaneously prepare for the MBA exams. All you need is self-motivation.but then don't overdo any one of them.I've heard guys cracking IIMs by continuing their studies in FMS and other good colleges(somewhere read in pagalguy only!!),but then his intensity for preparation(and study too)was unmatchable.and then there were guys who completely messed up their first year of MBA, preparing for CAT/XAT.So, if you really think you can crack any of the top 20 MBA colleges that too by not doing that at the cost of your current studies....go for it!!

and yes your acads will not create any problem for converting a call...not atleast for XLRI,IIMC,IIFT,MDI and a lot more good colleges!!

Best of luck from my side!!

Trust me this is not end allDisappointments are a part of life and it only makes you stronger. I know this sounds like a terrible gyan at this time but keep in mind that such situations are not specific to you alone. This happens to thousands of students every yearbut only those win who stay till the end!

CHUTKAN SaysHi,can anyone here help me plzz...i had posted earlier also on other threads but got no reply..
Buddy,
I would suggest you to drop a year more and continue with your job one more year. Prepare once again with lot more focus and try to get into leading b-schools .. because with kind of work ex you have, i feel that only leading b-schools can bring a value addition to you .
Otherwise, it is good if you go ahead in building a great career in your current profession rather than taking loan for your current admit and later spending a major chunk of your salary in repayment and too without any significant value addition .
Hope this helps,
Varun
Hi puys,
I want to ask the experienced members here about something that has bothered me for some time.
Basically, after school (in 2006), I went to the US (University of Buffalo, NY) for studies - in January 2007 (spring semester). However, after an year there, I had to come back due to family problems (had no choice but to come back - can explain this to the admissions committee). So by March 2008, I was back in India.
I took up admission in Delhi University and will graduate in 2011.
So essentially, I have a 2 year gap - May 2006 to May 2008.
My question is: how will B-Schools look at this gap? How will they see my 'stint' in the US? I had decent scores in my one year at University of Buffalo and even have a great letter of recommendation from a highly respected professor over there.
In other words: will this be a weakness, or a strength?
Hi Varun, thanks for ur advice i m also thinking same but many people r saying that "GIMT INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT AND TECHNOLOGY" where i hav got admission is gud placement wise ,this college is of Galgotia Institutions ,can u plz tell me how is college .....my sister had got admission in "G L BAJAJ INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT AND TECHNOLOGY" ....i want to know about this college also ,she had completed her graduation this yr only so, i think she will make her place in this field .
Hi Puys,
I am not kind of frustrated but I need some advice.
I graduated in 2007 and have a diploma in marketing. Also work exp of 1.5 yrs.
I recently landed up in MFC, University of Delhi where the fees is less and avg last year was 8 lpa.
Since, Its DU study pressure is not much barring 2-3 subjects where professors from top institutes have join.
My dilemma is - Should I try my luck again with CAT or rather should I go with CFA and try making a career out of it.

Ankur Mehra

Well, the college is little known and one thing is for sure placement would not be 100%. May we some top 10-15 students might get placements and that too in sales domain.
I wont ever recommend ever anyone to join a B grade college as your learning would be zero.
Rest decision is on your.

Well..the designation can be trainee engineer.. but if your job was full time.. it will be considered as work ex..
I completed my degree in 2009.Then worked in a company for 5 months and then joined my family-business.
will my working in my family-business be counted as work-ex?
It was full-time work.
If you think you dare not, you don't.

If you like to win but think you can't,
It's almost a cinch you won't.
If you think you'll lose, you're lost.
For out in the world we find
success begins with a fellow's will. :-o
It's all in the state of mind.

If you think you are out classed, you are.
You've got to think high to rise.
You've got to be sure of your-self before
you can ever win the prize.
Life's battles don't always go
to the stronger or faster man.
But sooner or later, the man who wins
is the man who thinks he can....!!!
