Frustrated and I need some inspiration/advice

absolutely pathetic!! One day after finishing my work (before the given deadline) i was reading a pdf on verbal ability....my project manager caught me red handed :banghead: and he allocated extra work to me .Cruel na !!

P.S-->I am not spamming just venting out my frustration!!


Well, if you are from IT, thats how it is. Proj Mgrs are to be only blammed to add on to the frustration levels. Estimations are tight and so is the pressure on delivery much more than expected.

One thing i used to do ,is select problems from PG posted in Quant section ,create a word document at home ,and mail it on my office ID .
SO in office during spare time ,or jus in between i would quickly read the questions and try solving mentally .
That ensured that the doc was not open for long ,for others to see + i improved my ability for mental calculations + in a day i would end up solving decent amount of questions.

That is gud enuf ,better than practicing verbal which would require long reading .

Dude thats nothing u know i got transferred to one of the most remote loacations in rajasthan when my manager found out i was giving entrance exams

Its always better not to mix prepration with work.....It seems managers usually assume if ur giving an exam ur gonna get thru

I can think of one more thing.Minimize the explorer window to minimum possible extent so that u can see only one question at a time and behind that window open another explorer with some official page, xl, doc or some software which will act as a camouflage and your actual activity might not be noticed:) Also, keep your fingers on ALT-TAB always

but u can't be perfect everytime and this thing has been obserevd by one of colleague.....and get noticed by your manager....

i have just crossed my 12th and wanna get in to IIM as i opted non med but still i am not going for engg. as a carrer i want to know which coaching is best in gurgaon region,i will take regular coaching for three years
thats 2 years at gurgaon and one year in delhi region please suggest me i am doing the right thing?if not any other alternatives?
every advice is whole heartidly accepted

if u are getting colleges like stephens,srcc,dse,venky ....(top clgs of du) then its ok otherwise its better to go for engg.perform in those 4 yrs get into some good IT company work there for 2-3 yrs and ur prospect of getting in IIMs will increase.believe me the %age of non enggr making to top cllgs are very low.

I see no problem with this. If you are hell bent on doing MBA as soon as possible you might as well go for simple 3 year graduation(Bcom/BBA et al) nearer to your home. Makes sense. Beware though, if you don't make into an MBA college soon enough you might not land up a job. This is a risk you should be willing to take.

i am eng 2009 passout. I completed the degree in may n i was called to join in an IT concern on dec2009 only.so i thought i would give CAT a try n to be frank i thought i would get a decent percentile n hence didnt join the company but i ended up scoring only 72 with 40 in verbal n 65 in quants.Just a week back i joined an office n thought of giving CAt an another go but the very fact that i wasted an year is haunting me like hell making it difficult for me to concentrate.i would like get some advice on to prepare myself so as to crack CAT this year.

u r not the only one.
my story is exactly similar to yours.
The only difference is that I have 18 months work-ex.
Things were not like this 2 yrs back.
I got 95%ile in cat 2007. It was easy getting 95%ile at that time.
Kash meye par leta.
I am sure that I got 30 in Xat this time.was satisfied. ultimately got 90%ile.
I was happy with my snap exam.got 86.75. n the rest is history.no calls.
rejected in iift (23) and jmet (5000 rank).

dont know what to tell you.
just concentrate on the happier things of life.
Frustration increases when you know that you missed 5 lollies in the cat xam.
neways, best of luck.
what I do to get rid of the frustration is enjoying every weekend, not enrolling to gd pi classes, giving gifts to all my relatives to make them smile(specially parents). I am an introvert kind of a person. Usually dont share my feelings with nebody.
Recession really made our life hell.

I was equally frustrated like u people 4 months back. u can look at my post above.
but ultimately i have cracked IMT-g.
My success is due to 90% luck 10% hard work.(although i worked hard, still i feel that i cracked IMT after giving a pathetic PI, my mock scores never was 97 but my cat srore was 97, thats y 90% luck)
I would suggest all of you not to loose hope.
Try ur level best and GOD will definitely fulfil ur wildest dreams and desires

dont consider yourself as an exceptional...such cases happen with many students. and yes, in the initial dayz, one does feel let down and you start blaming yourself for taking a wrong decision.

i will give u an example of my mentor :-
he passed out 4m SASTRA collg(eng) nd got placed in L&T;, he left his job nd prepared for CAT nd scored less...he was very broken down jst lyk u...but den, he gathered all courage and vth complete dedication prepared 4 CAT again nd landed up in IIM-S...
during dose dayz, he used to dedicate his tym to those activitites which kept him busy and happy and were productive - like writing blogs, reading books, surfing pagalguy ....

so dont get so depressed, keep urself engrossed in activities...keep urself busy...u wil gradually forget, dat sumthing lyk dis had ever happened...

BIM actually is a good coll. the open category cut off was 94+%ile believe this time. but too many quotas kinds of sting out of the coll. anyways the point is, dont give up hope, if u wnat 2 do an mba then keep working for it all the time. even i was an engg pass out in 2008 with a job in mindtree who gave me a joining date in april 2009, dint join the job, was highly frustrated, somehow managed to prepare for cat and landed into an iim. so just chill, go to work, and keep preparing whenever u can

luk vignesh - there is no harm even if you have only sat nd sun to study...what is important is that- even in those 2 days, 1 should study sincerely and with full dedication...

afterall, hardwork never goes unpaid...learn to dream higher, then only you will start putting in extra efforts to achieve the best...
may be in the end, u may not be able to get the best...but u will get nothing less than the best!!!

i want to tell i m not getting in any of the good colleges like stephens,venki and the hub i am not clear with my answer still! means at this time what should i go for
option 1-if ill go for a drop(which is a big issue) i will waste 5 years doing a graduation degee
option 2-if i join any college and prepare for cat there are many chances to get in to IIM's i will be souted in that 5 years with my post graduation degree too.
still i need help so tell me what to do?

The problem is to stay concentrated for 2.5 hrs at a stretch. I can take intermittent breaks in normal study but during exam, its not possible to take break , hence i lose concentration. Do you mean to say that if i continue doing study as proposed by you, i will be able to concentrate during exams too?



concentration problems can generally be solved by yoga and certain food items rich in nutrients which makes concentration stronger
u can try dem out

n be involved in different activities throughout the day
if you study continuously then it becomes really difficult to concentrate
