Hi guys...
This is my first post and I have spent hours reading the previous ones. The picture about pursuing CFA is still shady in my mind..... If anybody of you can guide me in the right direction considering the following academics of mine.... it will e really appreciated....
1) First of all I have done petrochemical engineering
2) I am just about to complete my International MBA from liverpool ... I took CORPORATE FINANCE as elective in my second sem.
3) The main problem first of all i wasn from the commerce background.. secondly the concepts of finance are still shaky in my mind..... although I cleared the paper but it was not satisfying at all....
So what I want to know is that .... I just have a basic 11th and 12th class accounts and finance knowledge.... ... and if I am starting from a scratch is it advisable for me to Pursue CFA......
The most important thing i want to ask is whether 11th 12th class commerce basics are enough to kick start CFA or you gotta equip yourselves with some more concepts. Plzz... help

Any advice is welcomed as I am already vry confused and the present situation is a total mess....
Thanks

Hi Puys,
Myself is from Biochemical Engg background and is working as manager maintenance in a leading FMCG. My total expereince of about 8 years is associated with technical sides only.To promote my further growth, the knowledge of finance (or accounts/tax-I am not sure) is a limiting factor. Can you Puys suggest me what course, I must do to improve my skills.I dont want to be a finance expert but I must be having sound knowledge to evaluate my projects from cost point of view, so that I Can understand the accounting ,taxation and other issues related with finance.

Hi all,

After a long time I am posting a reply to this thread seeking some genuine help from you guys! Recently one of my friend faced an interview in B'lore where he has been told that the CFA (USA) institute are blacklisting the resumes where "Chartered Financial Analyst" - ICFAI is mentioned and consequently the resume becomes virtually inactive over a wide range of companies in the financial sector, mainly MNCs. This story is absolutely true. My only query is whether you people are also getting such news in the market. If yes, can you tell me how are people managing such situations? Does it make any sense ommitting the CFA from the resume after spending such amount of time, effort and, of course, money?

This thread is dying. Its a useful thread we need to keep posting in here. BTW I have written my group A exams. I haven't done very well. Lets see if I pass.

who said the thread is dying its cool man. U should visit more often.
