hi well according to me one can pursue both mba and cfa together but what matters is ur dedication. cfa program from icfai university is knowledgeable program u can gain a lot from it.. but for all who are still in confusion try to decide asap as fees for cfa which is rs 24000 (20000+4000) (this is confirmed as i have just enrolled for d course) will increase upto rs 44000(a diffrence of 20000) from 7 april so guyz be fast nd decide asap

Does anyone have any idea about the release of CFA charter to students who have cleared the exams? I have heard that students who had cleared the exam in July, 2007 are yet to receive the charter!

Infact me too an engineer doing MBA and CFA simultaneously. Its been a tough time to prepare for both the courses... ofcourse no pain no gain...
Since CFA program is flexible, u can take ur own time to prepare for the course. Right now i am going to appear only one paper for JULY coz my semester is gng to appear in the same date....
So, u can join the course, provided ur a hard working student!!!!

2.yes if u do ms finance from icfai den after cumpleting till group 4 u r awarde with title cfa also ms finance is getting restructured so dere will be no admissions into d course after 7 april and its not yet decided dat wen it will start again

Yeah..there is a drastic difference being made.for exclusive CFA program i.e MFA..fees are going to be 40k after april 7th..compared to 25k now (infact 24k last week)....(without training) But there is no fee Hike in msFinance as far as til today(around 55-60k)

Regarding CFA the first thing u shud understand is CFA is a charter(a charter is issued by a Body,in this case CCFA) and MFA and MSFinance are degrees offered by the University..So Both MFA and MSfinance will make u eligible for CFA charter..Previously CFA charter was given only to successful MSFinance candidates as there was no separate MFA.. As far as msfinance is concerned it is almost double the rigor as MFA..so after completing first 4 groups..u r eligible for a CFA charter...u get various supplementary degrees at each stage..culminating in MSFinance As already been discussed Msfinance covers vast areas of finance where as MFA covers only investment management topics.. So there are some topics in MFA which are not covered in MSFinance and there are some topics in MSFinance which are not covered in MFA.Yet both will lead u to CFA Charter If MFA students want to upgrade to MSFinance he needs to enrol as fresh.and not eligible for any waiver of any subjects..(Actually this is the case till last week..as the MSFin.Brochure was not available to download in the site for last 2-3 days..i guess they are updating their brochures..:detective:) IF MSfinance students want to enroll for MFA,actually not necessary, then they do get waivers in several subjects. Do look at the Brochures i have attached a couple of posts earlier to this to understand the difference..
iam an aspiring CFA candidate not yet enrolled, so iam not expert to critically analyse both the courses..and they have already been analysed by others ,do look back in the thread..

And these fees are for the entire course and including ur first two groups exams.... after that u have pay 1k per group as and when u register..Read the brochures properly... and if u feel 44k for mfa is too much u can actually enrol for msfinance(53k+),but it is twice rigor as the other one....

I dont know much abt one yr full time program... but heard that its much expensive and ROI is not good too... So, instead go for an MBA FINANCE and take CFA in flexible mode..

Hey there's already lot been discussed regarding the same in the thread...Doin MBA and CFA together is tough but lot of people do study MBA and CFA together as it wud be helpful for their placements.. again that depends upon ur passion and ability ...and icfai CFA is very flexible that u can keep on giving it at every 3 mnth.Regarding study materials ICFAI provides a comprehensive courseware..
