ICFAI said that they ll provide a min of 20k pm for those who complete CFA....
But this is pretty low... but the profile that matter..!!

But I am in MFA program-Group A. Going to appear for july exam... I hope they syllabus is same for ACCOUNTING AND ECONOMICS for MFA and MS.

hello i have read some of the posts in the thread..and guys u have been doing a terrific job of clarifying querries..
I have gone thrugh the Brochure of CFA(ICFAI) UT.Flexible learning program..I have certain doubts regarding the fees..
1)according to the brochure the total fee wud 16K+4K+4k(final 4 groups)=24k..so is that all i need to pay provided i clr all in first attempt..(without training,internships,placements)..i had earlier een a post on tis thread that the fees are 50k..
2)is the 16k material enough to complete the entire couse..?
wud appreciate if u cud clarify

I am Akhil.....got admission...in ICFAI-hydbd..this year...for..2 yr..regular MBA course.........
I am intrstd in finance.....& thinking to specialize in it in 2nd yr.....
I am an engineer...from delhi........& having sm queries abt CFA-icfai_hydbd &
I wud b really thankful if u plz.......help me........4 d same.....
1)Whether....it is feasible to do.....both the courses...i.e MBA & CFA(distnc learning)........side by side...together....?????
2)Will it b difficult for me......doing CFA......as i hv an engg. background.....???
3)How it will help me........during my placements...??
4) NSE also provide sm certifications......NCFM....
These crtfctns are gud.........or doing CFA.....????
5) What will b the entire course-fees.......for the distance learning programm.........????

well iam not an expert yet most of your doubts,even i can clear..
Regarding NCFM certis..they are elementary stuffs and carry no value,,if u really dont have knowledge of that then u can download all NCFM modules and study on ur own and dont waste ur money on that..frankly iam also from non finance background..but yet manage to score 70% to 85% in 3 modules which i appeared.by preparing not more than 6-10 hrs/module....
CFA is more deep, rigorous and has a lot of value . It helps a lot in placements there is no doubt about it..
And Engineers dare to learn anything...and that too some chapters in CFA involve quantitative techniques that uses in math and stats.which iam sure u wud be comfortable with...
comin to Fees.distance learning CFA as mentioned in the brochure
basic fees-20k
training-12k
internships-8k
placements 4k
additional 4k for last four groups(provided u clr in first attempt else around 1k for every group
(i intend to pay 24k as i dont want any training as well as internships.as i already will be in some job)
u can minimum complete the program in 18 mnths(from the first exam)
..MBA and CFA is the right combination but. i cant answer whether u can do Both mba and cfa simultaneously...

hey ppl, i m a BA- economics n working in the MF industry for last two years, i ve got to know that the ICFAI university offers two programmes..
1) MS-Finance- 3 years duration
2) CFA- 18 months programme.
I wish to see myself in the research arena
kindly guide me which is a better option as i ve heard the MS finance course mite b scrapped coz of low demand.. is it true or plain bullshit..

hey ...thanks....however i have 3+yrs of bpo experience and going to move in financial kpo...so till the time i'll finish my CFA i would be having 2yrs of experience with financial kpo and overall work-ex of 5+...so after that how much should i expect becuase till that time i would be surely getting twice what icfai is saying...so pls tell me according to that..

well according to me one can pursue both mba and cfa together but what matters is ur dedication.
cfa program from icfai university is knowledgeable program u can gain a lot from it..
but for all who are still in confusion try to decide asap as fees for cfa which is rs 24000 (20000+4000) (this is confirmed as i have just enrolled for d course) will increase upto rs 44000(a diffrence of 20000) from 7 april so guyz be fast nd decide asap

Does anyone have any idea about the release of CFA charter to students who have cleared the exams?
I have heard that students who had cleared the exam in July, 2007 are yet to receive the charter!
