Go for 18 months CFA/ Masters in financial analysis program. Dont worry about rules and regulations. Only CFA/MFA is more then enough to get in corporate finance...depending how your interview goes.
Thanx Babu 4 ur advice....:D:D:D

can any1 tell me about job prospect of cfa(not ms finance) without having any other degree on finance?

Hi babu,

I am commerce graduate and going to complete MBA in finance through distance learning from Symbiosis. Wants to move into banking or financial sector.

Also I am working with a Hewitt and I have three years of work experience in BPO.I have'nt worked in a financial process but looking forward to work in such type of process.

Want's to do CFA ?.Please let me know...is it good to do CFA from ICFAI ?. If not than what are the other options availbale for me to enhance my carrer while working ?

What would be the carrer prospect for me after that?
I need some guidance and i am unable to find someone who can guide.

Would be great if i can get some guidance...

Hi arvindmax10,

Since you are completing MBA finance, you can try to get in financial research in any of the leading KPO firms in ggn/noida.

CFA is good and will give you a 'qualification brand'. Career prospect after CFA is bright and will help you to fetch entry level financial research / corporate finance job with proper shifts and intellectual work.
hi Babu,
Should i take tution class?:confused::confused:

Hi ; I have enrolled into the course MS finance ; but the material which i recieved is of 2006 (group alpha) i recieved micro ; macro and financial accounts ; buks are these correct;
secondly what should be the way to study ; rite now I first go through study guide and then solve workbook i am leaving out text books almost completely coz they are huge ; I am from non commerce background and full time working
Thirdly how good are icfai training classes

THANKX in advance

Its ok that you have received the course material. but please inform this to the university and have a word where you got the admission. i think its ok since its just to make a foundation finance world. so dont worry go and read and have confidence in you.

In my opinion just read study guide and understand the concepts and then read the textbooks and take mock test or complete the work book if you can. other wise just use the study guide and make your concepts clear. since in exams and in the real world the concept would help you more.:grin:

So dont worry you can clear without any problem. just make sure that you make a plan and stick to it atleast by 75% ok

hi Babu,
Should i take tution class?:confused::confused:

As per my information, only for level 1 classes are there but i think you dont require any tutions as the books of ICFAI is good and as you have cleared your CS inter. I dont think you would require any tutions.

I think you are very much cousious and sensitive. So dont take tension and just think positive and take mock test after you do your studies, so it will help to build your confidence.

Their books are more than enough. In fact you wont be able to finish their materiel. All you need to do is their workbook and previous years papers which you will find online somewhere. Just google it.

Hey thanks yaar....

So have u completed your CFA from Icfai...

Puys , I need some serious advice here.

I had enrolled for CFA in late June 2007 and gave CAT later that year too , now I'm convinced that I can do much better @ competitive exams by giving it one more shot , trouble is that I have already completed my BBA now , so I need to know that will pursuing CFA be considered by any institute panel as a sufficient reason to justify my year drop or do I need to be doing a job.

The major issue with a job being that the kind of profiles being offered are not really good enough according to me and in no way will a job render me enough time to prepae for CAT or do my CFA (it is pretty intensive !!!).

So can anyone help me decide what I should go for - Completing ym CFA and prepare for CAT or do a job , put CFA on standby and try preparing for CAT.

hi,
I hav done my graduation in economics and looking forward to mba in finance. But before that i want to go for cfa. Can anyone give me the details of this course like the recognized university for cfa, time taken, fee, pass percentage, and the job prospects. Is cfa offered by icfai good enough(i mean in terms of recognisition)? Do any other university in india offers cfa? Also tell me if cfa is comensurate with my background and my future plans?
Thanks in advance

Hi I am a MS finance student and grp away from CFA designation from ICFAI with work experience in these areas,My personal opinion and advise to you is not just jump to conclusions and try to fish in already troubled waters.Yes I do agree some from ICFAI with its CFA are doing well doesnt mean ICfai cfa is sweet and rosy.I personally feel its extremely tough and rigorous with poor track record of job prospects,It neither is a statutory recognition or an international designation.The stark reality is that its not even valued well in the Indian market(I beg to disagree).What I mean is its all fizz and no punch.People already in the investment sector at a senior level have an advantage if they have designation and NOt for a fresher with no onthe job experience.I advise u to go for a distance /full time MBA or CFA(aimr),CA its time tested with no disputes.ICFAI has given up on its CFA students.All the best for you future always judge the ROI and not just the return.Time and effort, cost,opportunity costs(alternatives foregone like MBA/CA) et all.Please search out all the options,and then decide I feel CFA with 4 groups is touger than CA or MBA.Knowledge wise I give CFA from ICFAI a thumbs up.I advise it not as a carrer choice but only to enrich knowledge.I suggest course only if it provides excellent placement along with good knowledge .

MS finance from ICFAI is like a marathon run it slowly , stedily like a tortouise and not like a sprint so avoid running like a rabbit ( specially if u r frm non commerce background) University has itself givn a time of 7 years so try to fininsh b/w 3 to 4 years . Take things slowly and calmly , its no at all easy , just keep on going mechnically vid keeping yr emotions down and one u vil realize u hav achivd yr goals.

Thats my experiance til date:-o

hi ,
i m dng BBA n its my final sem.
i m going to do MBA n vl join frm june or july.
bt sidewise i want to do CFA.
plz suggest me it would be diffcult to manage bth d thngs together . Is CFA is tough.
plz reply. THANK U

CFA certainly is tough and needs regular study - I don't know if you can manage an MBA and CFA together but what I do know tat it'll be very stressful .

something you can do is to subscribe to CFA and then take your sweet time with every module as it has a span of 7 years.
