Logging in after 2 months or more.... whoa.... what happened to old PG?? Guys how to get our subscribed threads? Any idea? Update from my side - Finished my first term in IIM Trichy..... now moving into the 2nd...... Fastened my seat belts and has put on the helmet 😛 Lets hope for the best 3:-) Hope that u guys are doing great for your CAT.... This is the peak time of preps and revision...... 😁 All the very best..... Cheers!!! 😁

So i got into an IIM today 😛 😁 I'm really happy that i was able to convert :D guys,what do you suggest..should i join or not?

My interview was awesome,i don't think i'm ever going to get an easier IIM interview 😁 i was able to lead them to my areas of interest,and somehow or the other,i was able to answer tech questions 😁 They started off by asking me the staple "tell us about yourself". I wasn't really prepared,to be honest, so i said something about having lots of interests such as quizzing,reading football etc.. they proceeded to ask me about books i had read recently ..i was really surprised to find that panel members had read the "Dune" series and "Shantaram " 😁 i messed up a few questions,i went blank when they asked me about things from the book..probably because of the shock 😁 They asked me about "Xtreme programming" and "agile scrum",because i had mentioned in my application letter that i got a certificate form IEEE for xtreme programming.. they asked me whether "scrum" was used in any other context..i was able to recall that the initial scuffle in rugby/american football is called "scrum" 😁 they asked me the basic difference b/w rugby and american football.. after saying some stupid things,i finally remembered that you can pass only backwards in rugby 😁 they proceeded to ask me about offside rule in football and how it's different from LBW or something .. they asked me about algorithms and the complexity of algorithms..Breadth first search and depth first search.. that's just about all i can recall..
Before the interview,there was a WAT,with 2 questions(40 mins ) 1st one was to write the summary of a passage in 130 words,the second was to write an essay on "practice what you preach" wrt the government pointing fingers at corruption in the private sector..
Thanks everyone..i haven't really prepared for CAT 2012, madi pidichu 😁 i probably won't join,i'll ask people in IIM Indore and some other people before taking a decision..but really happy that i made it through :D
Congrats @pradyothcjohn !! When do you have to give your confirmation ? If its after your CAT date, you could weigh your options. 
@seetharam7 have to confirm by 21st man 😁 classes start by 28th 😁 and TCS joining date is 27th 😁 Another option would be to join ,and write CAT..if i get into,say FMS,or NITIE,IIT B,JBIMS etc,where the fees is comparatively less.. then the problem would be explaining the discontinuity.. weighing all my options now,won't decide what to do till i have the full picture about this course..
