My AIMCAT 1306 result
QA/DI 17A 14C 3W : 39
VA/LR 26A 21C 5W : 58
OA 43A 35C 8W : 97
Similar to the past few mocks, sec 1 screwed me this time too........
Proc 8 Results :
QA/DI 24A 0W : 72
VA/LR 30A 13W : 38
@seetharam7
For p to be max n=1.
720=2^4 * 3^2 * 5
Find out the max no of times 720 divides (135!/6!)
No of times 2^4 divides 135!/6! -->32-1=31.
For 3^2==> 33-1=32
For 5 ==> 33-1=32
So the Ans is 31.

@rohan_bhasker: overall hasnt changed...bt va is fluctuating like crazy...gotta do sumthing...u wrote proc?
Didn't write proc this time.I was not well.so missed it........My VA is getting better with each mock, but sec 1 is really punishing me π
@Kevin88 Ya. That was my doubt. Whats the formula to find the number of times a number raised to a power divides another number factorial?
I know that if its a prime no, we just keep dividing and add up the quotients and it is product, we take smaller of the sum of the quotients.

@rohan_bhasker Hey, the preps are going well. Scored my highest marks of 81 in the prev AIMCAT. I got pdfs of CL mocks, so solving them when i get time. I also made a schedule for the last month which consists of taking either an AIMCAT or a MC/CRT every 2 days.
The MCs and CRTs are really good for boosting your confidence

@seetharam7 I've not started giving the MCs CRTs Unprocs and sectional tests.Will start giving them on a regular basis from now on..... :)
My mock scores have been dismal of late..sec1 is killing me!! i haven't crossed 30 in the last 3 mocks :'( 84 in 1306.. 23 and 61..(sec1 13a 9 c
sec2 27a 22c)
sec2 has been decent as always,but need to get 70+ scores in sec2 with sec1 in the state it is in π i have only myself to blame π
I've decided not to join,btw..going to see what lady luck has in store for me π π
@pradyothcjohn same here buddy......really need to focus on sec 1.though my section 2 scores are improving, i'm aiming 70+ by the time of CAT ;)
@pugna @rohan_bhasker @pradyothcjohn Guys, how many attempts do you people have in Sect 2 usually ? Which questions do you leave ? What do you do if you narrow it down to 2 options ?
And can you answer the question i posted above for kevin ?

Srry bro for the late reply..was stuck in office & couldn't log in to reply
Anyway in the case of composite nos (eg: 16 from the previous Q... divide the factorial (eg: 135!) continuously by 2 & obtain the ans as 131.
Now since 16 = 2^4.
Divide 131 by 4 & only take the quotient 32.
So the max no of times 16 divides 135 ! = 32.
But since we have to divide by 6! & as 6! can be divided by 16 one time.
The final sol is 32-1 = 31.
Hope its clear.

P.S In the case of large nos like 720, you would need to divide the factorial in question by 16, 9, 5 & the smallest value amongst the quotients will be the final solution. !!
