CAT 2012 Kerala study group

For section 2, does anyone here follow the VA-LR-RC order ? If so, does your strategy get messed up when the LR gets really tough ?

I had taken a mock yesterday and the LR section was really tough. I just got stuck. Finally ended up doing 3 RCs in 10min and got half of them wrong.

Also, can someone please send me the CL mocks pdf ? I heard their LR is more difficult.

It's better to have a VA- LR/RC strategy..attempt LR if it's easy, otherwise go with RC..
AIMCAT LR has been tough for the last few mocks,i haven't got all the LR qns in quite a while 😁 Trust me,CAT qns are going to be easier,if anything
@seetharam7 said:@raku1989 please explain the method.

U first consider statement 1 is true

then statement 2 cannot be true

Also it cannot be lie because there are only 7 liars as per Statement 1.

So the only possibility for statement 1 is to be a lie

Now you know there are atleast 8 liars in the group.

But if you consider both statement 2 and 3, the statement 2 has to be a lie, for statement 3 to be true. Thereby we can conclude that there are 15 liars and 15 truth tellers.

Hope i dint confuse you with my explanation. :)

A. Ram failed to understand what had come over his otherwise
B. very reasonable wife that she starts asking him to go after
C. some unknown animal that was apparently an illusion.

ABCD forms the paragraph
A is the only correct sentence?

@[518068:raku1989] : i dont quite understand the options...cud u be a bit more specific like

1: A and B etc...

my take : A & D

Gave CL PROC 7 today

Sec 1 17C 2W - 49

Sec 2 10C 2W - 28

OA 27C 4W - 77

My section 2 window got automatically submitted when i had about 30-32min left in the test. This is my lowest VA score in a long time.Anyway, i'm not going to give up.Hope to make up for this loss in AIMCAT 1308 :)

Coorect option is 1) A,C,D,E
ie only B is incorrect
I have no clue how.....
@[544751:pugna]

@[544751:pugna] sorry for the confusion created

@raku1989 : B is wrong because "who" should come after "wife" than "that"...i felt C to be wrong because "that: should be replaced with "which"..and in E i felt it should be "something that COULD cause..." ..
@pradyothcjohn : we could definitely use ur verbal prowess here :)

@pugna I agree to your take on the answer to raku's question. And yes, it would be great if pradyoth can help us out with this 😃

" Ram failed to understand what had come over his otherwise

very reasonable wife that she starts asking him to go after"

i think that the correct way to put it would be

"Ram failed to understand what had come over his otherwise reasonable wife that she STARTED asking him to go after.."

or maybe

"Ram failed to understand what had come over his otherwise reasonable wife for her to START asking him to go after.."

anyway,the sentence is wrong,for sure

and yeah,on second thoughts, all the other sentences seem to be correct..except maybe C. The smart thing to do would be to leave this question,i guess :D

Hey every1 check this out

Preparing for exams is a lonely business. You read the theory, you convince yourself you have understood it, until the first question slams you in the face and you realize how little you know. During these times you wish prep could be collaborative. You wish you could talk to some people immediately who have solved the question better. You wish some of your expert friends can help you understand it better. You wish more people could solve it alongside you so that you can share your knowledge with others and also learn from others in your group. Sometimes we all need a little help, a little motivation, a little nudge in the right direction and when that happens, you experience the true joy of understanding a subject and conquering it.

PG Prep-Marathon is our way of helping you find that joy in preparation. (This product was designed by people who hated studying, for people who hate studying)

Onto the goodies:

Our idea of prep is community oriented. You just need to login to the site at the given times and join the group prep session.

1) Questions will be presented to you in your live feeds. Everyone on PG who is participating in the marathon will see the same question.
2) You will have KBC style hints to eliminate options (at the cost of reducing your points)
3) Chat room discussions right after you answer the question so that you can compare notes immediately

Every question will have 10 minutes for answering. We will run it for a month and cover all areas of CAT prep. We have tied up with Byju's to provide you with exclusive questions in each area of prep. The questions have been vetted by our community experts - @naga25french and @Estallar12 . Schedule of which topics on which dates will be released before final launch.

We are running 2 marathons for beta testing on Monday and Tuesday from 7:00 - 11:00 PM. Final launch will be very soon after that. Hope everyone will be there and enjoy community prep. post your doubts or suggestions over here.

Prep deserves to be fun. We hope to get it there

Wow..awesome initiative by PG!!

@pradyoth You said it buddy.....This will ensure that we cover all the topics before CAT.Moreover it will be fun to participate in a KBC style marathon 😃

Brilliant idea. PG just became more awesome !

sorry to intrude. please be online on Monday/Tuesday for testing Prep marathon. final launch will be very soon after that.

Took "CL proctored mock test 3" today . Paper was very easy and therefore scored decently.

Section 1 : 22C/1W : Total 65 : Section percentile 99.7
Section 2 : 20C/8W : Total 52 : Section percentile 97.7 (I know, horrible accuracy)

Total : 42C/9W : Total 117 :Overall percentile 99.78
