Taking nos from 1000 - 1999
So its like 1 _ _ _ : these three gaps can be filled in 5 ways each since repetition is allowed. So total number of ways = 5x5x5 = 125.
Same holds for numbers starting with 2 & 3. So the count till now = 125x3 = 375.
Now since the upper limit of the range given is 4000. We have only one possibility which is 4000 itself. Hence answer = 375 + 1 = 376. Hope I am clear enough. :)

Not happy with my performance in QA/DI.But happy with my accuracy in sec 2.this time i was also able to attempt a reasonable number of questions in VA/LR without compromising on accuracy 
@pugna dont know buddy.may be its bcoz i've been focusing on sec 2 the past few days.anyway, i've learned my lesson.Hope to come back with a bang in the next mock ...... 😃
@pugna did u get the answer to the lake problem.i got the ans as 800/3, but it wasn't there in the options
@pugna I'm happy with my performance in sec 2 though.I had attempted only the RC on migration.left the remaining 7 RC questions.That means i've begun to gain control over the VA part considering that i've only made 3 wrong picks in section 2.With more practice, i guess i can also improve my speed.I hope u are aware of the PG marathon tomorrow.hope u'll be there............. 😃

Don't know how i got 4 and 5 wrong in sec1 and sec2 resp. This was a paper that was pretty close to CAT standard..
I lost around 5 mins because the mouse stopped working on 3 occasions ..got really,REALLY frustrated,this is the second straight invigilated mock that's been messed up by technical problems. I was about to mark an ans in sec1 when i ran out of time. Sec 2 was pretty easy,should have ideally scored 70+ ,dunno how i got 5 wrong..attempted 2 qns from that venn diagram set on hockey,football,cricket.,that's probably where i got 2 negs.
In addition to all that,missed my train by 1-2mins(it started moving just as i reached the counter 😛 ) Argh !! 😁 Now that i've got the rant out of the way,feeling a bit better 😁
Regarding the bird lake problem, If we take the fact, that the reflection of the bird in the lake is as deep as the height of the bird above the ground, we will get the answer. Initially, I got the answer as 800 over 3.. and fortunately , they didnt provide that option..
so reevaluated and got the answer as 400
