AFAIK, there are Student discount of 3%, if u r working with Infosys, then there is some discount too... Dell Employee discount of 3 to 4%.....

I'm planning to go for an Inspiron 15R, apart from the VAT discount which is provided (on booking online) is there any other discount that can be obtained?

Also, any accessories/add-ons one can bargain for?

The processor is more than sufficient for daily tasks involved in course of an MBA.

AFA gaming is concerned if you intend to play only CS or others integrated graphics will work. In case you intend for anything with higher graphics requirement make sure you get a video card.

i3 processor... Can any1 comment on whether i3-330 is gud enuf or there is huge difference between i3-350?

To address some of ur queries....
the warranty includes the adapter.....the battery is covered only for the first year as it is a consumable....
I'll suggest dont get a laptop from abroad....their port designs and configurations are different from ours......so you might have trouble interfacing ur laptop here...either to the internet and others......

Pls replyto above-------also there are rumors of dell rolling back the 15r series due to heating and dead pixel issue.

There has been lot of talk about different type of discounts vis-a-vis student, govt. employee etc ... Can someone elaborate how these discounts are availed? And how to go about the whole online booking system? DO we have to talk to someone so that discount can be availed? Thanks in advance ... 😃

But ya if you can convince them for discount thn u may fetch discount of 3-4%.

So after discount it will cost u aroun 31500-31820 (approx)

Plus u may get a small gift u pay thru credit card.

(Like they give me a dell mouse worth rp 300 as a gift.)

You can also take name n number of dell agent from me who process my order. He can directly offer u some discount if u r a student.

which ports are u talking about- I have an HP from USA- and all its ports (USB/HDMI/Ethernet/Video out/ Telephone line)+power cord..are standard and work perfectly in India. probably if you buy from middle east/ far east ..u may end up with some weird keyboard :), but canada will not have any such problem IMHO
The only extra thing a buyer of imported laptops should check is the international warranty policy of the manufacture.

For daily work MBA stuff i3 is good enough of course.
For gaming, it does not matter if its i3 or i5 but what matters is the graphic card. You need to have 512 MB / 1 GB graphics on your lappy and thats that

Anyways, if the budget is 60k and you are willing to spend it..get HP dv6 2164TX. Powerful and great performing lappy!
High-end procy..Intel Core i7 720QM(Performance is almost in the range of 920XM..the best procy money can buy!)
Graphics card --Nvidia GT230M,1GB version.(Good fr casual gaming)
Ample storage space, great looks etc
A bit on the heavier side though!
