hey guys! even i m planning to buy a studio15 laptop from the dell website only...i just wanted to ask dat is dere any kind of discount being offered by dell sales representative?? in the name of corporate discount or any other discount?? or any specific scheme being offred?? pls update on dis....!!

I am planning to buy a Dell mini 10 laptop worth 18K.
What say guys ... will it be good for doing a MBA, i am not a gaming freak .. will just be making ppts and pdfs.
i would love to carry a small notebook in hand rather than that 3kgs stuff.
Need some suggestions urgently.:grin:

Go with the 2nd one in case u want a better battery life and performance .A 9 cell battery will give you about two hours of minimum advantage over the 6 cell battery + 512 Mb gfx card will be more than enough for any application demanding better graphics.There ain't much difference b/w i3 and i5 ,considering the type of work an MBA student will do in the lap.Both have 3 cores and 3M cache each,which is the main thing.

The only slight disadvantage of a 15" is the weight + slight protruding of the 9 cell battery downwards,but that will not be much of a problem , i guess.

which among these is the best in 512mb card config???????

Between the two models, da main difference is da 1 GB extra RAM in Dell (which may not be too observable) and the 9 cell lithium ion battery. However, I feel Sony Vaio's looks, aesthetics and keyboard are much better. But Dell's 9-cell lithium battery is likely to last much longer than Sony's 6-cell, so which one do I go for ?...Also do suggest any other brands/models with similar configurations which I could consider...

Built wise if u know the difference btw Lenovo Thinkpad and Y series. Anyway inspiron/ vostro got a very poor built type where as Studio's built is far more superior like latitude.

To your query....and generally......DO NOT BUY DELL....
they have no after sales services once ur warranty expires.....
I learnt it the hard way...i already have two of them:banghead:!!
recently my laptop went out of warranty and its dvd drive went dead...now they are not changing it even on a paid basis....they say the only way of getting a dell laptop repaired beyond its warranty is to get its warranty extended....which costs around Rs 17,000 per year...no parts are available for purchase otherwise.....so be informed about it before making any purchases......
