Regarding Dell and other lappys -
1. U'll have some form of troubles with every lappy u buy.
2 .Dell inspirons do used to suffer from heating problems . But the new inspiron series with new models that have come up are pretty decent in their price range.(they've got good responses as compared to previous versions)
3. HP definitely scores less than Dell in battery life + Price factor
4. In dell u can have any cnfig in any model of your choice ranging from the battery ,gfx cards,colours,processors,bags etc.So dats an added bonus
5. If u buy through a dell agent online,u can avail discounts around 2000 Rs/-
The final decision has to be urs.Even if u buy a Mac problems do arise,I've seen myself.So the most imp. thing is how fast and easily u can come over these problems and Dell's the best in this aspect.

I have been using DELL Inspiron frm 6 months and let me tell u if I hav d money, I wil buy the same model again. Its awesome. It has 7-8 Multimedia shortcuts. The basic one are there. What u desire I hav no idea so no comments.
If u want looks, then see DELL studio but yes that will cross 40k budget
HP and COMPAQ is a strict no for me. I dont know but I cannot stand HP. Pricing is too high and my stint with HP has not been good to be honest. I wil never buy HP even if my DELL laptop blasts one day.
P.S. I am not a DELL agent but I will recommend DELL to one and all bcoz of the awesome experience I am having

I have 1 yr warranty. If you are a kind of person who experiments too much wid ur laptop, formatting, every day installing new programs or games, using pirated softwares, etc and will use it a bit roughly, go for 2yrs..

Yes, Dell does...or at least it used to. See Dell n Series - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. I'm not able to get its Dell webpage though.
I got mine - Dell Latitude D520 (N-series) - from ELCOT (student laptop scheme) a couple of years back. It cost around 30K and came with 3 years international onsite warranty. It has SUSE Linux OS (I installed XP, Vista in multiboot configuration later). More here.
ELCOT reintroduced this scheme the following year too and sold Acer and HP laptops at discounted prices. The scheme was only for students from Tamilnadu. Last year they didn't continue this but keep an eye on its website just in case they do.

The best choice will be Dell buddy .Awesome after sale service.
There's not much of a difference b/w the i3 350M and i5 430M processors except for the turbo boost which gets itno use very rarely.The 1000 Rs that u'll save can get u a 1Gb gfx card instead of 512Mb one.That will surely be more than enough for gaming purposes.But if you are spending 35-40k theres no harm in going for the best u can even if costs you a 1000 extra.
Regarding the cover its totally your call .I went for a 1 year complete accidental cover and they assured me they'll get each and everything replaced if it goes out of work.

The best place would be Nehru Place in Delhi.There's a lot of competition among the dealers there so you can get the piece at somewhat lower price than other places.If u order through a Dell agent then u can avail extra discounts though.So if you really are keen on saving some money go and buy online by contacting a dell salex executive.

I myself bought my Dell studio online and got an extra 2000 Rs. discount + a few more added features that are not an option on the site of Dell India.They deliver you the piece in about two weeks.You can always keep in touch with your agent through mail or mobile phone so that's not a big worry.

m trying for that but atom processors can be very under performing. m looking fr someone who has already used and can guide wat all applications can it work out without hanging.
Even Hp and Asus and Acer have come up with thier minis and nearly all of them have the same processor. i was thinking that whats the use of a notebook during MBA ..just to read and type. hardly will i be gettng time for other stuff. Saving 30K is a big deal and nehow after PG i wont be using it.
i would rather deposit 30K in FD in do somethng else after 2 yrs.

Always go for a full-blown laptop for an mba school. Nettops will keep you out of major action (and i am not taking gaming). Don't be a fool, buy good laptops and invest wisely.
As for me, APPLE ROCKS Nothing beats an APPLE.
