Its up to you... no sensible institute would compel you to buy a new one when you already have one.

All the best.
Hi guys,
I am planning to buy a laptop...Can you just tell me which laptop is better HP or DELL,
Both are giving same configuration 500 GB hard disk,4 GB RAM, 512 MB graphics Card
Dell is giving ATI Raedon graphics card whereas HP is giving NVIDIA GE Force 105 M
Also I feel Service of HP is better to DELL isn't it?
Can you please help me.
Well my experience with HP has been not that great. It seems to have battery issues (low battery hours) and sound issues. Dell is better in these aspects. Other than that Dell few CONS too as regards to looks and weight which is better in HP (lighter and better in looks). So its your call. I feel you must go for DELL

Dell and Sony are good, n if u also consider cost then among the three lappy's u hav mentioned Dell is the best...........
go for it
interceptor16 SaysDoes it support High End gaming?? like COD, Farcry? And in average running situations...whats the battery standby time
Yeah.. i've tried COD:Modern warfare 2 and farcry 2 on it..
it runs fine.. but u have to chng the graphics options to medium...
no laptop can run d game in its high graphics mode.. its very heavy game....
and By the way..., GTA 4 dint run that good....
If u take a 6 cell battery, it runs fr 80-90 mins... and 9 cell battery wrks fr 2 good hrs..
Dell and Sony are good, n if u also consider cost then among the three lappy's u hav mentioned Dell is the best...........
go for it

Dude....... Acer Sucks........... so just leave that option.......... HD 5470 is best compatible with DDR2 RAM while HD 5650 is best compatible for DDR3 RAM........... so accordingly check the configurations

also for your knowledge if u r purchasing a lappy whose Processor has a Bus (FSB --> Front Side Bus Speed of upto 800 MHz) then with this processor purchasing a lappy with DDR3 Ram(whose processing speed is 1066 MHz ) is not a worth with these processor DDR2 is Ok then y wasting money for DDR3...... for DDR3 i3 processors and above are good

BUt these days comps are giving DDR3 with i3/i5
interceptor16 SaysBUt these days comps are giving DDR3 with i3/i5
then HD5470 and HD5650 both are good but the best optimized configuration is HD5650
but dell comes with 5470 😞 with i3 and 3-4 GB RAM DDR3
interceptor16 Saysbut dell comes with 5470 😞 with i3 and 3-4 GB RAM DDR3
go with dell........... see by writing ki 5650 is best optimized, i just want to say ki processing speed of 5650 is slightly better than 5470 ,,,,,,, but then its neglegible bcz at present all the games or softwares or any thing can work same on both the types................. n dont get confuse about these versions bcz yahi to hai computer market me marketing n selling ka raaj...... bcz when i hav purchased my lappy at that time T6670 was the best n just 1 mnth after that intel had launch the 'i' series........... so my final opinion to u is ki dont get confuse any more go with DELL 5470 , it will give u access to any software or games present in the market
I know my way around laptops and technology, but
Big question - what screen size? 13", 14" or 15" ? I've used all sizes. 13"ers are great when you need to be on the move, but suck when it com to usage. 15"ers are great for usablity, but their portablity sucks.
This is more a question of what sort of usage would be involved in the average 2 year B school stint?
should i go to either of the logical extremes and get a 10" netbook or a 17" widescreen monster 😁
or is the middle path the golden path, and where is it ?
